Course Overview
Woodhaven Golf Course, located in Daniels, West Virginia, offers a rigorous yet rewarding 18-hole layout that challenges golfers with its distinctive mountain setting. As part of the Glade Springs Resort complex, this public course unfolds across a landscape defined by rolling hills and elevation shifts that demand both strategic shot-making and careful club selection. The course's design emphasizes wide fairways framed by mature trees, while the generous greens invite precise approaches amid subtle contours that test putting skills.
Players navigating Woodhaven will find a blend of natural beauty and deliberate challenges. Several holes feature uphill and downhill blind tee shots, where controlling trajectory and distance is key. The course’s terrain pushes golfers to keep the ball in play; errant shots often face steep rough or strategically placed bunkers guarding the scoring zones. Carts are highly recommended due to the hilly topography, allowing for comfortable play and helping maintain pace.
Beyond the course itself, Woodhaven benefits from the attentive maintenance under Golf Director Matt Felber and his dedicated grounds crew, ensuring immaculate conditions and well-kept surfaces. The welcoming atmosphere extends from the starter’s friendly advice to the helpful pro shop staff at The Haven Club House, creating a thorough experience for visitors. This course suits experienced players seeking an engaging mountain golf test but remains approachable for those keen to embrace its layout with smart play.
Woodhaven’s visual appeal stands out with panoramic views of the West Virginia highlands interspersed with tranquil wooded pockets. The combination of wind patterns that often influence shots and the challenging topography invites golfers to adjust their tempo and strategy throughout the round. Whether attacking the par 4s that bend through forested corridors or gauging distance on elevated par 3s, this course encourages thoughtful calculation and offering a memorable mountain golf experience.
For golfers planning a visit, sturdy shoes with good traction are advisable, and morning tee times can reward players with pleasant temperatures and slower greens. The course’s commitment to quality and challenge makes Woodhaven a destination for those who appreciate well-crafted mountain golf that blends natural elements with a carefully managed playing surface.

Very challenging course. Had a great time. Wide fairways, good-sized greens, and well taken care of. Throw in a minus 1 star for the day I played it was cart path only. Carts are definitely a needed convenience on this course.

The Woodhaven course at Glade Spring Resorts was an amazing mountain golf experience that was all excitement and challenge! The course was extremely well maintained and immaculate. If my cell was charged, I would have photographed many beautiful holes. Every single employee treated me like royalty. Starting with Cody, who was the young starter who greeted me with a golf cart and gave me the best intel and strategy for the course. All of the grounds staff were cordial, professional, and endearing. My high regards to Matt, the director of golf, for running a top-notch team. I shall return with friends to play all 3 courses. The course is very hilly and the gas golf carts are unrestricted and fast. Drive safely. God bless!
