Well-kept fairways and responsive greens, paired with peaceful, wooded surroundings, create a memorable golf experience suitable for a broad range of skill levels.
Course Overview
Brattleboro Country Club offers an 18-hole golf experience set against the gentle hills and wooded landscapes of southern Vermont. This semi-private course blends traditional New England parkland styling with thoughtfully shaped greens and fairways that demand strategic play. Each hole quietly challenges golfers with subtle elevation changes and natural hazards that weave through mature stands of trees and well-maintained rough.
The layout emphasizes shot placement over brute distance, making it approachable for a wide range of golfers—from those sharpening their mid-handicap skills to low handicappers seeking an engaging test. The greens, known for their receptive surfaces and moderate true roll, reward precision. Throughout the round, natural terrain acts as both guide and obstacle, with bunkers positioned to guard critical landing zones and greens that invite careful reading.
The clubhouse serves as a welcoming hub with a classic, relaxed atmosphere. Recent player reviews confirm the course’s reputation for friendly service and excellent conditioning, especially the fairways and tricky greens, which come alive with subtle contours and speed. The attention to maintenance extends to the fairways’ lush grass and smooth putting surfaces, ensuring a rewarding round in nearly any season.
Brattleboro’s location provides a scenic backdrop without the weather extremes often found at higher elevations. Golfers will find the course a comfortable walk for those opting to experience the game on foot, though a cart is also available on request. The terrain’s gentle slopes call for good walking shoes and moderate fitness, especially on warmer days. The peaceful rhythm of the round is complemented by occasional glimpses of wildlife and the soft rustling of leaves, enriching the sensory connection to the course’s Vermont surroundings.
Visitors looking to time their visit will appreciate the course’s pace of play, generally steady and well-managed even during busy periods. After golf, the clubhouse restaurant has built a strong reputation locally, offering a refined dining option to close out the day.
For players seeking a golf outing that blends classic New England charm with practical playability and consistently good conditions, Brattleboro Country Club remains a distinguished choice within the region.

Good service at this restaurant. We ordered the burgers which come with seasoned crispy fries and a pickle. The bins they use are fantastic. Mine was cooked perfectly medium. There was a problem with one of our menu items and the very accommodating server removed it from the bill. The restaurant itself was a very clean and inviting space.

It is the jewel of Brattleboro. Such a beautiful course. The staff, literally everyone, is so great. Challenging layout best fairways around. Greens are a little tricky so beware but super maintained. And now there is Bella Norte. Probably the best restaurant in Brattleboro.

This course is great. The greens are great for landing on and having the ball stop. The beverage cart frequented us often. We did not go thirsty. I will definitely play this again.

Ok New England Course. Beware of billing. Was told to expect to pay $170 at the course after paying $2 booking fee online. At the course I was told that an additional credit card convenience charge plus Brattleboro tax was also due bringing the total for 2 people to over $188. Nowhere were these extra fees mentioned at time of booking. Poor transparency!

Friendly Pro Shop. Very nice course. Very nice conditions. Pace of play was good. Well worth the 90 minute drive for us. I think we will get a later tee time next time so we can stay for dinner. Highly recommend this course.

Sooooo good! This is one of those hidden gems you’d love to discover! Hidden in a golf course/country club, everything from the professional seasoned staff to the quaint old house vibe, and actually underpriced food that I would have happily paid much more for! This is our second time back, definitely will make it a point to return again when we see in the area. Highest recommendations!
