Cedar Ridge Golf Course
Cedar Ridge Golf Course delivers a refreshing public golf experience in Cedar City, Utah, combining a gently rolling 18-hole layout with well-maintained greens and scenic southwestern desert character. The course challenges golfers with wind-affected fairways and approachable design that rewards thoughtful play.
Course Overview
Cedar Ridge Golf Course offers a compelling blend of challenge and natural beauty along its 18-hole layout set against the rugged landscape of Cedar City, Utah. As a public course, it welcomes golfers seeking a well-maintained, accessible golfing experience infused with the quiet strength of southern Utah’s terrain. The course stretches over approximately 6,700 yards with a par of 72, presenting a balanced test for players of varying skill levels.
The design takes full advantage of the site's natural undulations, combining tighter fairways lined with native grasses and open stretches where the wind becomes a significant factor. This presence of wind adds a dynamic element that demands strategic shotmaking and measured club selection throughout the round. The terrain’s subtle elevation changes guide golfers through a route that reveals contrasting characters between the front and back nine. The front nine feels more intimate, winding through areas where the landscape feels less altered, emphasizing the raw, open character of the region. By contrast, the back nine opens up with wider fairways inviting more aggressive play, though a few well-placed bunkers remain vigilant around the greens.
Cedar Ridge’s putting surfaces stand out for their consistent condition and subtle breaks, rewarding precision and finesse. Their maintenance is clearly a priority, ensuring that putting remains a rewarding test rather than an ordeal. The course’s straightforward routing makes it readable and playable, appealing to golfers who appreciate a fair challenge but not one that overwhelms.
The clubhouse, while modest, provides a comfortable hub that includes basic amenities such as a pro shop, equipment rentals, and a patio area for relaxation after play. Cart rentals are available, though many golfers enjoy the walkable nature of the course when weather allows. Visitors should be prepared for occasional wind gusts and consider bringing layered clothing. Tee times have recently been introduced, improving accessibility for players looking to plan their rounds more precisely.
Cedar Ridge remains an inviting regional golf destination where well-kept conditions and a naturally engaging layout create a satisfying golf day for both locals and travelers journeying through Utah.

This is a jewel of a course. Greens are amazing, fairways are nice with challenging fringes as it should be. All eighteen holes are fun every time in a beautiful setting. Their updated website now allows reserved tee times. Perfect.

Was driving through and decided to stop and play. I had a great time and loved the course layout. The one thing to know about southern Utah golf is wind plays a role. It was windy. But I had fun and really liked the staff! Recommended for sure

The course itself really is beautiful, but we have come on 5 different occasions and not been able to golf because it's either too busy or there's a tournament multiple days out of the week. We wish it was more available and that you could book tee times so we could know for sure if we could play.

Really enjoyed this beautiful course on 27 September as one of the 9 Utah courses I played on my epic golf vacation. The staff there are top-notch and the maintenance crew does a splendid job on the greens and fairways. The front 9 are the prettiest in terms of more undeveloped terrain, but the back 9 had it's own beauty in longer, wider, more open fairways. Thank you, Toepfer for having a part in making it great - and thank you to the coach of the SUU Golf Team for inviting me for pizza!

Came down from salt lake to visit and play at this course. They don’t book Tee times since it’s first come first serve. Turns out the course was closed for a tournament. Would have been nice to know if they had a website to book a tee time. Pretty annoying
