Richmond, Rhode Island, USASouthern Rhode Island

Pinecrest Golf Course presents a beautifully maintained 9-hole layout through a pine forest setting in Richmond, Rhode Island. This public course offers firm, fast greens and a strategic design that welcomes golfers of all skill levels seeking both challenge and tranquility.

Course Overview

Set against a backdrop of towering pines and gently rolling terrain, Pinecrest Golf Course offers an inviting yet thoughtfully challenging 9-hole layout in Richmond, Rhode Island. This public course strikes a balance between natural beauty and strategic play, drawing golfers who appreciate a course that rewards both precision and patience. Measuring just over 3,000 yards with a par of 35, Pinecrest carves its way through a verdant forest landscape, providing a quiet refuge that feels far removed from city life yet remains accessible for visitors.

The course’s design encourages careful shot-making. Fairways wind through clusters of mature pines, while greens present subtle contours that demand deliberate pace and putt selection. Bunkers are positioned to test approach shots without overwhelming players, while the gentle elevation changes inject variety without taxing stamina. Players navigating Pinecrest will find it approachable for intermediate golfers yet engaging enough to satisfy those seeking to sharpen their skills.

Pinecrest places strong emphasis on quality maintenance and player experience. Greens are consistently described as firm and fast, reflecting diligent upkeep that allows golf balls to roll true and provide a fair challenge. The narrow fairways and natural undulations require accuracy off the tee, where errant shots can be swallowed by the surrounding forest. However, the absence of nearby homes and intrusive noise contributes to a peaceful atmosphere that encourages focus and relaxation.

Amenities complement the golf with a well-appointed clubhouse featuring a covered outdoor deck complete with heaters—perfect for post-round gatherings or watching fellow players. The friendly and attentive staff enhance the overall experience, making Pinecrest welcoming whether it’s a casual round or a first visit each season.

Golfers considering Pinecrest should be prepared for walking over hills and uneven turf; sturdy shoes and a walking-friendly mindset are recommended. Cart service is available but many prefer to stroll and absorb the natural setting. Early spring through late fall represent the prime times for play when the course is at its freshest.

Pinecrest Golf Course serves as both a community hub and a testing ground where the forest's calm demands steady focus. Its combination of approachable layout and quality presentation makes it a rewarding stop for golfers traveling through southern Rhode Island.

A fun 9 holes (par 35) undulating through a beautiful pine forest with very few homes to disturb the view. The course held up well despite all the rain that had just ended earlier in the day. The clubhouse is set up nicely and the covered outdoor deck with high hat heaters and course view makes it a pleasure to share beverages/lunch with your golf buddies. Laurie, our hostess, is always friendly and efficient.

We decided on a whim to try Pinecrest Tuesday 03/9 I had read good reviews so booked the first tee time with Deb my party arrived a little early. Sevy greeted us with an smile as he was working methodically to get the course set up. It was a little cool and we all had smiles on our faces first round of the year here in New England. I just got back from innisbrook and played a dozen courses in the area and it was nice to see a welcoming attitude from Deb and Sevy. Pinecrest has a wonderful Narrow and challenging layout doesn't feel like you're in Rhode Island The Greens look like something Don Ross Would be envious of. We enjoyed the Design very much and can't wait to see it green up looks very well cared for. . Better hit them straight and manage your shots or your Score may not be Pretty but the Surroundings sure are. I'll never forget this round for the rest of my life for the first time I witnessed an ace!!! My Colleague Marco Deus put one in on 8 for an ACE even though it was a temporary Green it was quite the feat and yes he did buy the drinks what a country. I want to say thank you for the hospitality. We played 27 Holes and the carts are Spotless. Great fun Smiling Staff felt like I was at my CC. I can't wait to play again Bring an cordless to get the tees in the ground LOL

A nine-hole public track, in Carolina RI, with private country club conditions. Chris, along with his right-hand man Seve, work their magic to keep the course in such great shape, despite all the public play. Pinecrest GC is family-owned, and when you arrive on the property, you become family too.

Great little 9 hole course that is well designed, well kept and fun to play. Greens are firm and fast, the design can present you with challenging hills and moguls. Friendly staff, good fun, I highly recommend this course.
