Course Overview

El Legado Golf Club in Guayama, Puerto Rico, offers an engaging 18-hole experience that balances natural beauty with accessible playability. Designed as a public course, it stretches over a diverse landscape shaped by gentle hills and sprawling fairways that invite players of all skill levels. The course’s layout makes use of the island’s subtle elevation changes and coastal breezes, creating a rhythmic interaction between precision and strategy. From tee to green, the fairways are thoughtfully maintained, guiding shots with natural contours while bunkers and water hazards provide measured challenges without overwhelming the player.

The setting combines lush tropical vegetation with open vistas that allow the Caribbean light to play across the course throughout the day. Many holes feature wide landing areas yet demand accuracy as approach shots near the well-protected greens. Wind often becomes a factor as it sweeps across the property, especially in afternoon rounds, testing shot selection and tempo.

El Legado welcomes those looking to walk the course—an option encouraged for its health benefits and the chance to connect more fully with the environment. Players who prefer riding can arrange carts, though walking reveals subtle shifts in elevation and landscape that carts may mask.

Off the course, the club’s restaurant creates a relaxed atmosphere for post-round gatherings, with menus highlighting local flavors and refreshing beverages. Golf instruction is another highlight, with recommended professionals on site to assist newcomers or those refining their technique.

El Legado’s combination of approachable design, tropical scenery, and friendly staff makes it a standout destination in southern Puerto Rico. The course withstands seasonal weather challenges and remains an inviting test for all, from beginners to more experienced golfers. The vibrant sunsets that close out a day here offer a fitting reward to those who seek both challenge and leisure under open skies.

Course Highlights

El Legado features broad fairways punctuated by strategically placed bunkers and water hazards that add interest without punitive difficulty. The tropical foliage and elevation changes influence wind patterns, especially in afternoon play. The club’s restaurant and available instruction enhance the overall experience, making it a well-rounded golfing destination in southern Puerto Rico.

Excellent course, great food n drinks, beautiful fairway and ranges. Courteous and friendly staff. Just picking up the game myself. The instructor, Tito Bellaflores is bar none. A true gentleman and outstanding teacher For those learning the game and those already pros, it’s an excellent choice if you’re ever down south of the island. The sunset is spectacular.

This golf course has absolutely beautiful scenery at every hole but as out of town golfers (3 out of town golfers) we rented clubs that were just trash 🗑. They really need to get at least a decent set if they are going to be charging you a rental fee. Besides that it was a fun time.

A very nice golf course. Considering Huricane Fiona blew through the south side of Puerto Rico, the track was in good shape. When I played, the greens had just been tined/aerated, but still rolled true

If you like to walk n play golf they allow it and at a resonable fee, then after they have a great restuarant to relax n regain energy also very resonable.
