Course Overview

Laurel Hill Golf Course in Central Point, Oregon, is a compact yet thoughtfully designed executive course that balances challenge with approachability across its 18 holes. Spread over a modest footprint, the course invites players to navigate a layout framed by mature trees and pockets of water, which create natural obstacles demanding strategy over pure power. While modest in length, the course’s compact nature rewards precision and thoughtful shot placement, making it well suited for golfers developing their game or those seeking a brisk round without sacrificing engagement.

The setting offers a peaceful reprieve from urban bustle, with verdant fairways punctuated by tall Douglas firs and gentle water hazards that test your ability to judge distance and trajectory. Despite its executive length, Laurel Hill’s greens, maintained with care, require a good touch; their surfaces, while variable depending on weather, still invite players to refine their putting skills.

Visitors will find a cozy clubhouse that provides a comfortable spot to relax after a round, featuring a selection of beverages and a limited menu that suits casual outings. The driving range is a notable amenity here, praised for its quiet ambiance and well-kept conditions—ideal for honing swings before teeing off. Golf carts are generally available, though walking is common, encouraged by the course’s manageable size and gentle terrain.

Course conditions can fluctuate with the Pacific Northwest climate; players should expect soft or damp turf at times and plan accordingly, choosing footwear suitable for potentially soggy ground. Tee boxes see frequent play given Laurel Hill’s popularity among local golfers, so early rounds or weekday visits might offer the best pace of play.

This course invites golfers who appreciate a challenge that blends natural elements with a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere. Its charm lies in its accessibility and the opportunity to sharpen short game skills in a setting where the landscape offers both assistance and subtle resistance.

Course Highlights

Friendly staff, beautiful spot. Greens were very slow and wet, I’ve never plugged a ball in a green before. Pace was very slow, grill was not open, carts work but are very old. Price was right for what you get, still enjoyed my round. I spent the last 12 years working at a high end private club so I know what it takes to maintain a golf course, they just need a little help.

The staff was excellent and extremely friendly - while the course left something to be desired from a dry climate course. The grounds were soupy and seemed over watered or poor drainage. Tee boxes are not rotated often enough and requires clever placement to find adequate area to teeup. Beautiful part of the country and beautiful course, but grounds crew needs to put in work.

I haven't played the course yet, I'm very new to the sport. But I loved the driving range experience. It's quiet and comfortable. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

Knowing it is a small executive course that offers challenges as you travers the trees and water to make it a medium challenge. There is a small but nice clubhouse with a good selection of libations and a limited food offering. The greens and driving range are well maintained.

Liars and waist of time Lisa more specifically I called down there to let her know I’m coming to rent a cart and play. A game and she told me that’s ok come on down and as long as you have the cart back by 645 that’s ok so I drive there twenty mins from my home then she tells me never mind it’s to late and she can’t help me so she waisted my time and then made it seem like I didn’t call her and ask her before I came there to come golf so don’t go there
