Hidden Creek Golf Course

Litchfield, New Hampshire, USASouthern New Hampshire

Hidden Creek Golf Course offers an 18-hole public layout that balances strategic challenge with accessibility. Featuring tight fairways, natural surroundings, and a variety of hole designs, it provides an engaging golf experience for players of different skill levels.

Course Overview

Hidden Creek Golf Course in Litchfield, New Hampshire, offers a distinctive golfing experience across its 18 holes, presenting a blend of challenge and approachability suitable for a wide spectrum of golfers. This public layout stretches around 6,200 yards from the back tees, playing to a par of 72 and revealing a course that demands accuracy and thoughtful club selection.

The course winds through a landscape that subtly shifts from wooded corridors to open fairways bordered by natural vegetation. Tight landing areas on several holes encourage precision over power, while greens, though currently varied in condition, add an extra layer of strategy with subtle breaks that reward careful reading. Players will find themselves negotiating modest elevation changes that keep the round engaging without overwhelming the less experienced.

Hidden Creek favors tactical play, particularly where fairways narrow and require shot shaping, yet it remains accessible with forward tees for those looking for a more relaxed outing. The mix of holes includes par 3s that test iron play and mid-length par 4s that can yield scoring opportunities with a well-placed tee shot.

The clubhouse facilities provide a welcoming atmosphere, with a well-maintained practice area supporting pre-round warm-ups or focused improvement sessions. While maintenance of the greens has seen some inconsistency in recent seasons, overall fairway conditions are clean and the staff is known to be courteous and attentive, enhancing the day’s experience.

Visitors are advised to plan their rounds during milder weather for the best footing, as some fairways feature tighter corridors that can become challenging when wet. Walking is permitted and encouraged, with comfortable footwear recommended to navigate the moderate terrain.

Hidden Creek Golf Course serves the local community and guests seeking an engaging, thoughtfully designed course. Its combination of strategic elements and approachable yardages makes it a solid choice for players looking to test their game while enjoying New Hampshire’s understated golf settings.

Course Highlights

The course stands out for its tight fairways framed by natural woodlands and vegetation, demanding precision off the tee. Several holes introduce elevation changes that affect club selection, while par 3s provide strategic variety. The practice area offers space to refine short game skills before starting. Though greens have shown some inconsistencies, their subtle contours create engaging putting challenges when in good condition.

This is a fun track. Greens were really slow, but played in April. Some very tight fairways and interesting holes.

One of the worst golf experiences I’ve had. The fairways are in rough shape — patchy, overgrown, and clearly not maintained. The greens are just as bad — incredibly slow and uneven, making putting a total guesswork game. The real kicker, though, is the staff. The starter and the guy behind the register seem completely clueless. No idea how to manage tee times, which led to total chaos at the first tee. We waited forever to get started, and the round dragged on painfully due to the lack of pace control. Between the poorly kept course and the disorganized, unhelpful staff, this place is a hard pass. I won’t be playing here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent round of golf.

Great course, great staff. Tee times are spaced enough you don't have to wait more than a minute or two for the group in front to clear the green on the par 3's and short 4's. One green needs repair but overall worth the $50 per person with cart.

The old guy running things was so smug and arrogant. He was rude and condescending and obviously bothered by me and my daughter being new and unsure of how things were set up. I sensed his bad attitude the second I walked in to the office. Just a real jerk. I wanted to teach my daughter who was home on leave from the military how to play golf and just enjoy the day but we were too slow and he chased us down twice to tell us that. I knew he would harass us all day so I asked if we could just go to the driving range instead. “Driving Range is closed”. Very rude. He did refund us which was fair but he was rude about that too. If you’re new to golf then don’t even try to play here. It’s meant for retired old men who have been playing there for years. We didn’t even make it off the first hole. Only hit the ball twice. We started late because there were people on the fairway in front of us. Apparently we were supposed to be with that “group” but nobody told me that. I thought it would be just me and my daughter so we waited until it was all clear. Anyway. Just a terrible experience. Can’t stress enough what a jerk this guy was.

For the last few years the greens have lacked and need improvements, especially for how much it costs to play. Better off with the 18 hole course up the road @Passaconway or @Derryfield which is not far either. The practice facility is the only reason why I’m giving it 3 stars.

Play was very slow and our tee time went off about 30 minutes late. Course wasn't in great condition. Putting green was much faster than the greens on the course. $50 for 9 holes & cart for this course is way too much.
