Pine Creek Golf Club
Pine Creek Golf Club offers an approachable 18-hole public layout characterized by rolling parkland fairways and fast, domed greens. This walking-only course challenges golfers to navigate subtle elevation changes and strategic bunkering without overwhelming less experienced players.
Course Overview
Pine Creek Golf Club, located in Purvis, Mississippi, offers an 18-hole public golf experience shaped by its naturally rolling terrain and Southern charm. The course presents a layout that leans toward a parkland style, with gentle elevation changes and fairways lined with native pines that demand accurate tee shots while rewarding thoughtful shot placement. Golfers will notice the thoughtful interplay between hilly sections and more open stretches, allowing for strategic play without overwhelming less experienced players.
The greens at Pine Creek provide a distinctive challenge. Many are domed and fast, requiring precision on approach shots and careful reading of subtle breaks. Bunkers appear in well-placed locations, quietly enforcing accuracy without overcomplicating the holes. While the course’s conditioning can vary, especially around the sand hazards that sometimes show wear, recent efforts have kept the greens responsive and the fairways well-manicured.
Players should note that Pine Creek operates on a strict walking-only policy; golf carts are not permitted, which invites a more grounded connection to the course’s changing contours. This walking format suits players prepared for moderate elevation adjustments and a steady pace. Yardage markers are placed on small discs embedded in the fairways, which calls for a keen eye off the tee. Familiarity with the course layout is beneficial to navigate the closely spaced holes and to maintain smooth play.
The clubhouse, modest yet welcoming, serves as a practical hub where guests handle check-in with ease. The course’s pricing reflects its value as an accessible option in a region where high-quality golf opportunities are limited. Service staff are recognized for their friendly approach, enhancing the overall atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.
For those seeking a golf venue that blends straightforward conditioning with natural setting challenges, Pine Creek Golf Club provides an approachable but engaging round. Its proximity to Purvis makes it a practical destination for players in Southern Mississippi looking to enjoy a solid round of golf without excessive travel or expense. With attention to walking fit and course familiarity, golfers can craft a memorable outing amid pine-dotted fairways and spirited greens.
Course Highlights
The course features elevated, fast greens that reward precision, with fairways framed by mature Southern pines. Its walking-only rule encourages an immersive pace amid natural contouring. The layout balances challenge and playability, especially with closely spaced holes requiring pace awareness. While some facilities are basic, friendly staff and well-maintained fairways enhance the experience.

Very terrible golf course for the price, 30$ for 9 holes talk about a rip off, the t-box on hole three is like I’m taking a trip to the beach and throwing some turf to hit off doesn’t help, I have people blasting music while I’m trying to T off just very bad golf etiquette, for the price they charge the just need to shut down and rebuild.

The reviews doesn't do this place any justice. First of all, the staff was very friendly. The golf course itself was very well kept, greens were in great shape, and the natural beauty of the area will keep my son and I coming back on the regular. Did I mention the value, what a hidden gem.

My first time playing this course. Friendly staff. Great price, but bring cash (there is an ATM in the clubhouse). Most of the greens are domed; all are fast. Hills. Yardage markers are fairway disks that are hard to find (posts would be better, IMHO). All-in-all a great course to play; challenging for casual players.

You're getting what you pay for here. Cheap on weekdays in a area where a good golf course is scarce. Make sure and pay attention to the group behind you while teeing off because the tee boxes and greens are very close together. Fairways are fair and greens are inconsistent. Some greens can have large sandy spots and others are pristine on any given day. Cart paths need to be redone but Pine Creek has a "never cart path only" rule. CASH ONLY. Never use the range because the balls are like bricks.
