Millbrook Golf & Country Club

Picayune, Mississippi, USASouthern Mississippi

Millbrook Golf & Country Club in Picayune, Mississippi, offers an accessible 18-hole layout famed for its wide fairways and inviting greens. Its blend of natural rural setting and thoughtful hazards makes it a practical choice for players seeking a relaxed yet engaging round.

Course Overview

Situated in Picayune, Mississippi, Millbrook Golf & Country Club presents an 18-hole layout that offers a balanced golfing experience for a broad spectrum of players. Classified primarily as a public-access course with a welcoming attitude toward casual play, Millbrook demands little in terms of technical skill while still providing challenges that can engage mid-level and more experienced golfers.

The course stretches over roughly 6,600 yards from the back tees, with a par of 72 that unfolds across relatively wide fairways and approachable green complexes. While the terrain is predominantly flat, the design incorporates a subtle mix of water hazards and strategically placed bunkers that shape several holes, encouraging thoughtful shot placement rather than sheer power. This openness invites golfers to find their rhythm without intimidation, making it particularly suitable for families and groups looking for an enjoyable round without the pressure of rigid competition.

Surrounding Millbrook’s fairways, mature trees and natural landscaping offer visual breaks that frame the course’s straightforward routing. Though not a mountain or coastal layout, the grounds’ quiet, rural setting contributes to a relaxed atmosphere, making it a pleasant retreat from busier urban courses nearby.

Playability is a strong point here, with well-maintained but sometimes patchy greens and fairways that reflect ongoing care efforts. The course is a solid choice for those seeking value and ease of play. Amenities include a modest clubhouse facility that supports golf outings and community events, though it lacks the extensive resort features found at larger venues.

Players should be prepared for variable maintenance conditions and occasional slow play, as rounds can sometimes extend due to pace-of-play challenges. Walking is permitted, but given the expanse and layout, golf carts are commonly used to keep pace while preserving energy.

For visitors planning a trip to Millbrook Golf & Country Club, expect a straightforward, friendly golf environment that offers a useful test of accuracy and course management without overwhelming complexity. It’s a course where the landscape is patient, the fairways inviting, and each hole an opportunity to enjoy golf in a relaxed Southern setting.

Layout took getting used to, but a well maintained course with very friendly personnel.

We played the course for the first time today, despite the recent bad reviews. What did we experience? A friendly welcome from the lady in the pro shop, who was very informative. Golfers who were on the course with their children were friendly and let us play through. We played the course in 2 hours 45 minutes. The unkempt bunkers weren't so great. The partially sandy and bare greens were bearable. After all, we only paid $32 per person (via TeeOff). But we had a lovely day of golf in Picayune.

If you're a member I'm sure it's fine. If you're a guest and don't play much, steer clear of this place. They don't want you there and tee times mean nothing for you.

Booked a round online for 1 PM next day. Only finished 6 holes. Looked as if I would be out in 2 hours but all of a sudden 3 groups of adults with young kids slowed play to a crawl! Just horrible. No marshal around and no other employees to be found. Don’t mind the bad greens or fairways under repair but this was unacceptable! So much for the decent online price. Have played numerous times but will start traveling to Slidell once again.

Great value course with wide open fairways. It was a little hard to find the tees at first and the greens could have been better but it was a great place to be out and enjoy a round of golf.
