The Club at Tucson National

Tucson, Arizona, USASouthern Arizona

The Club at Tucson National presents two championship 18-hole courses set within the desert’s rugged beauty. Featuring the demanding Catalina Course alongside the more forgiving Sonora Course, it offers a comprehensive and engaging golf experience framed by the distinctive Sonoran Desert.

Course Overview

The Club at Tucson National offers an immersive golf experience across two distinct 18-hole championship courses, each carved into the rugged desert terrain of Tucson, Arizona. This private resort-style club presents a compelling challenge amid striking Sonoran Desert landscapes, where towering saguaros and desert flora frame fairways that demand accuracy and strategic thinking. The courses showcase dry, arid conditions interspersed with rocky outcrops that influence shot shape and club selection, creating a dynamic test for golfers of all levels.

The Catalina Course, known for hosting several PGA Tour Champions events, commands respect with its length and intricate green complexes. Each hole stretches beyond conventional yardages, encouraging players to manage distance with care, while undulating greens require close attention to speed and break. The 9th and 18th holes stand out with water hazards that hover over driving landing zones and greens protected by well-placed bunkers, elevating the tension in the closing moments of the round.

Across the property, the Sonora Course offers a contrasting style. It maintains a strong desert character yet feels more approachable in its routing, providing a fair but solid challenge through natural desert contours and open views. Both courses benefit from thoughtful conditioning, with well-defined playing corridors and receptive putting surfaces.

Beyond the course, the Club’s amenities include a welcoming clubhouse offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, a driving range with practice greens, and attentive service that caters to both members and their guests. Walking is encouraged, allowing players to engage with the landscape’s quiet presence and gain a more intimate feel for the course’s subtle complexities.

Players aiming to experience golf steeped in natural desert beauty yet constructed with tournament-level precision will find The Club at Tucson National a stimulating destination. Whether managing the demanding PGA Tour layout or enjoying a more relaxed round on Sonora, the venue demands focus, patience, and adaptability—qualities that will leave a lasting impression on any golfer willing to take on its challenges.

A beautiful place all around ! 2x very nice 18-hole courses. Of course, the Senior PGA is played here, so it's fun to place a course you see on TV. But it's definitely one of the nicest places in town and worth a visit. Fun, interesting holes, a great staff, a nice driving range and putting/chipping areas, and a nice clubhouse add to the experience.

We played at the Catalina course, s a PGA Tour course, 😄 it's really difficult but a lot of fun. The difficulty of this course contains 2 elements, first, each hole is 20+% further than normal course, so it cost you 1 more hit in average to get on the green; second, the greens, fast and lots of minor but leathal streaks that you need to pay a lot attention to read it. Love both Hole 🕳️⛳ 9 and 18, both have a pond at around 200+ yards, which is literally an examination of your driver accuracy; both the greens are fortress-like, which will cost you 20+yeads more to get on the greens. Really love Catalina A LOT !
