Bayville Golf Club
Bayville Golf Club delivers an 18-hole, all-par-3 course set within a dense wooded parkland that emphasizes precision and strategic play. Its approachable yet challenging layout makes it an ideal choice for golfers seeking a focused short-game test in the heart of Virginia Beach.
Course Overview
Bayville Golf Club, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, offers a distinct golf experience characterized by its all-par-3 layout stretched across a landscape that challenges precision more than power. This 18-hole public course brings players into a mature wooded setting, where towering trees frame each fairway, demanding careful shot selection and thoughtful navigation. Far from a typical city course, Bayville's length and strategically placed rough create a playground for golfers who appreciate accuracy over distance, with errant shots swiftly penalized by dense foliage and challenging terrain.
Despite its modest scale, the course offers a genuine test that suits a broad range of skill levels. Beginners will find an approachable environment to hone short-game skills, while more advanced players will enjoy the subtleties in its design that require steady control and patience. The park-like setting is calm and well-marked, guiding golfers through the routing with ease, even as the winding paths embody a natural rhythm that encourages reflection and focus.
Amenities include on-site parking and nearby restroom facilities within the adjoining park, providing convenience for day visitors. Two practice holes close to the first tee offer a warm-up space, allowing players to settle into the day’s challenges before teeing off. The staff maintains a helpful presence, creating a welcoming atmosphere without intruding on the flow of play.
Walking is encouraged here, although the dense wooded environment means sturdy shoes and careful footing are advisable. For those who prefer wheels, carts are available by request but tend to be limited during peak times.
Bayville Golf Club captures the essence of a thoughtfully designed municipal course that prioritizes sharp shot-making and strategic thinking over sheer distance. It is an inviting venue for players who want to test their finesse amid Virginia Beach’s natural surroundings. While it may not boast extravagant amenities, its character and challenge make it a worthy addition to any local golfer’s rotation or visitor’s itinerary who values a demanding, well-kept parkland golf experience.
Course Highlights
Bayville Golf Club stands out for its unique 18-hole par-3 design threading through mature woodland and parkland terrain. The course places a premium on shot accuracy with narrow, tree-lined fairways and well-guarded greens. Two short practice holes near the first tee provide players an excellent opportunity to warm up. While modest in amenities, the club is known for friendly staff and a layout that tests patience and precision over sheer distance.

I’ve only been to so many high end golf courses so I don’t have much to compare to but - the course is ultra beautiful. Doesn’t play easy if your used to city courses- the rough is no joke. Leave the fairway and you’ll have issues. Staff/Marshall friendly and helpful. A lot of engineering and work went into this course and it shows when you play.

Really enjoy the course. It is very wooded but well marked so you can find your way around. All holes are par 3 but with the trees it can be tough. Restrooms are in the park and there is plenty of parking. Two practice holes are located close to first hole. The course is very popular so it can get crowded.

Thought this was a semi private club just to find out there is a $75,000 initiation fee and they don’t even have a swimming pool. This place needs a reality check, like is there gold in the fairway each time I chip some grass out of it.

Never saw neither one of their cart drivers until me and my co worker was having a convo. Then suddenly they rode pass us non stop.

The guy that said it was bad isn't a golfer. This is not only a great layout but one of the nicest clubs at the Beach. If you are going to the beach and can get on you won't be disappointed.
