Course Overview

Moab Golf Course offers an 18-hole public layout set against the dramatic red rock formations that define southeastern Utah. Located just off E Bench Road, this course extends an inviting challenge wrapped in a rugged desert landscape, where the natural contours and open skies create a distinctive golf experience far removed from traditional parkland or coastal venues.

Players encounter a straightforward yet engaging layout that balances accessibility with moments requiring thoughtful shot placement. The fairways wind through arid terrain marked by intermittent native vegetation, while greens present subtle breaks influenced by the desert’s undulating land. Throughout the round, the course’s elevation changes and the ever-present desert winds play a quiet but steady role in testing tempo and club selection.

The setting commands attention with the red cliffs and canyons providing a striking visual backdrop that shifts hues as the sun moves across the sky. This environment breathes life into each hole, urging players to adjust to the course’s unique rhythm and desert temperament. While not overly long, the layout demands precision rather than brute force, making it approachable for golfers across varying abilities who appreciate a blend of natural scenery and strategic golf.

The Moab Golf Course has undergone recent improvements which have enhanced fairway conditions and green health, reflecting a growing commitment to course quality. The friendly and attentive staff contribute to an inviting atmosphere, and the clubhouse keeps things casual, featuring a snack house with homemade offerings and affordable refreshments.

Walkers will appreciate the open layout and mostly flat paths, but desert conditions require sun protection and adequate hydration. Golfers visiting Moab for its famed outdoor adventures will find a round here a welcome complement – a chance to engage the mind and body on a course that respects the desert environment while providing genuine golf enjoyment.

For those planning a visit, morning or late afternoon tee times avoid the desert heat and showcase the landscape’s vibrant colors. I checked the reviews of this course the night we got here to Moab, based on some of these reviews with the pics i decided the course wasn’t worth playing on. Couple days pass, we have some free time, my friend and I take a drive by the course to see the actual condition. Completely blown away with the pics from a few months ago to the pics I post today. The course is in really good condition. We played a round of 18, the fairways are good, the greens are good on almost all 18, the staff was friendly and the beers are only 3$, the food was fantastic. If you come to Moab for golf, the course is more than playable. June 23, 2025

Played here today with my son after checking into our hotel. Had a great time and we will be playing again tomorrow. Staff was very friendly and helpful. From what I've heard the course was in pretty rough shape a few months ago. Seems like things are turning around.

A group of us have been coming to this golf course for over the last 23 years. We always come in late spring for our annual golf tune-up We take lessons and instructions from Rob Jones, the Golf Pro before we start the season up north. He keeps his teaching methods simple. This year we played three days in a row on a course that is slowly coming back from two years of having no snow. One cannot control Mother Nature. The course is in rough shape, and it will take time to recover. I read the bad reviews and still came to play with my friends. We had a wonderful three days of golf despite the condition of the course. I have no doubt that this course will recover over time to become the jewel in the desert as it once was. The damage is not due to neglect at all. If you have high expectations, wait another year. If you would like to support the staff and the course in tough times, come and play a round and enjoy the beauty of the red rocks around you. The pro shop has some nice merchandise, and the snack house has excellent homemade food. Prices are great, but the best part of the Moab Golf Club is the staff, warm and friendly and very helpful. Instead of criticizing, why not come out and support the course and its staff. It would be a shame for Moab to lose this course for the locals and for us tourists.

played the course a few months ago and a course i would consider one of the best in the state was in really poor shape. (I heard Due to irrigation and personal) since then they hire a new superintendent Travis and in a very short period of time the course looks really good. At the rate they're going the course will look as good as it ever has looked before within a few months. Hats off to the crew at the Moab Golf Course you all are doing a great job and the big thanks to Travis. The job you were doing is impressive.

I played here a couple of times over the years, the last being six years ago. I remember it as being a nice course. Today, however, was the worst golf experience EVER! The course conditions were abominable. It's like they haven't done any maintenance on the fairways or greens at all in forever. Seriously, this course was a disgrace, especially considering it's surrounded such expansive beautiful natural scenery. Two thumbs down!
