Course Overview
Moccasin Bend Golf Course presents a welcoming 18-hole layout that balances accessibility with moments of subtle challenge, making it a versatile choice for golfers at all stages of their development. Situated at 381 Moccasin Bend Rd in Chattanooga, Tennessee, this public course offers a blend of open fairways and natural water features that shape the rhythm of each round without overwhelming less experienced players.
The course’s design leans toward straightforward play, featuring wide fairways that encourage confident tee shots, especially for beginners refining their swing. Yet a few holes demand careful strategy, notably where water comes into play on the 7th and 13th holes. The 13th stands out for its scenic backdrop—a mountain range framing the right side, accompanied by a river that introduces both visual appeal and an added test of accuracy.
Greens at Moccasin Bend are consistently maintained, with their fast roll and smooth surfaces inviting precise putting. While conditions have improved under recent management efforts, players should check seasonal maintenance schedules, as aeration occasionally affects green firmness.

I have played this golf course many times so I will give an honest review. First thing, price/course quality ratio. It is a pretty cheap course. Greens are typically in solid condition, only time they were not was when they aerated them, wish they wouldn't charge full price during the recovery time but it is what it is. Not a very difficult course, except for a couple holes. I am relatively new golfer (played about a year) and its a great spot for newbie golfers. Food/drink prices are pretty good, and they will give you a small cooler. Everyone that works inside (everyone except the ranger) has always been really nice. My only complaint is that the ranger (older gentleman) is routinely a bit of a jerk. My advice for this would be if he talks to you, do not take it personally. Make the conversation as short as possible, and you will be on your way. Never had a single issue once I started play. If this guy was not always a jerk, this would be 100% the best public course in Chatt for the price. I still think it is anyways.

I call this my "home" course because I live about 15 mins away. Its where I honed in my skills as beginner amd learned how to cpurse manage and club selection. Lots of wide open fairways and straight forward holes. Perfect for a beginner player. Water comes into play a couple times, the most being on hole 7 to the right and to the right on hole 13. The greens are fast but roll well. Hole 13 is very pretty with the mountain range in the background and river to the right. Good pace of play during the week, friendly staff, good beer and beverage options, and a pretty good chicken salad sandwich. Fair prices and a fun experience.

We had a fun quick morning round here before our show day. Close to downtown Chattanooga, budget friendly and an exceptionally welcoming staff made this a great stop on our #golfjam tour. We look forward to visiting again.

Pretty straightforward holes but inexpensive and in good condition at least in early May. Will definitely play again Update: course conditions actually seem to continue to improve, but price remains reasonable. Good work by new management
