Hocking Hills Golf Club

Logan, Ohio, USASoutheastern Ohio

Hocking Hills Golf Club offers an engaging 18-hole public course set amid the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio. Its mix of elevation changes, strategic doglegs, and well-kept greens presents a varied challenge that suits both newer players and seasoned golfers.

Course Overview

Hocking Hills Golf Club offers golfers a memorable 18-hole journey through the rolling landscape of southeastern Ohio. This public course presents a layout that balances natural beauty with strategic challenge, inviting players of varying levels to engage with its diverse holes. The course gently weaves through changing elevations and forested areas, creating a setting where each shot demands thoughtful club selection and attention to footing. Its terrain is marked by undulating fairways and pockets of mature trees that help frame holes while adding a quiet, contemplative character to the round.

Players will find that the fairways vary in width, with several doglegs requiring both precision and course management. Elevation changes affect stance and trajectory, adding a subtle mountain-style element to a primarily parkland design. Greens are generally small but well-maintained, often guarded by bunkers or natural rough that can quickly penalize wayward approach shots. The course’s conditions reflect seasonal dependencies, with some areas occasionally challenged by long grass during dry spells, so bringing extra golf balls is advisable.

While the layout offers a level of challenge suited to more experienced golfers, the course retains an approachable quality for newcomers thanks to multiple tee options and forgiving fairway design on select holes. The clubhouse offers casual dining options with indoor and outdoor seating, providing a social atmosphere after your round. With a full bar and a selection of local drafts and whiskeys, it makes for a fitting place to reflect on the day’s golf.

Walking is encouraged here, and the undulating terrain means sturdy shoes are recommended for comfort and stability. The course’s setting amid the rolling hills of Logan creates natural wind conditions that test tempo and shot shape without overwhelming the experience. For those exploring golf opportunities in the Hocking Hills region, this course stands as a rewarding stop that blends challenge with unpretentious enjoyment on and off the course.

Course Highlights

The course is distinguished by its rolling hills and forest-bordered fairways that create natural challenges. Several holes feature strategic doglegs and elevation shifts that demand careful club selection. The small, well-maintained greens are often protected by bunkers and thick rough. The clubhouse adds a community feel with its inviting bar and outdoor seating options, perfect for socializing after play.

I'm newer to golf, but this has been one of my favorite so far. Such a beautiful and challenging course. I honestly wished I'd gotten more pictures. The sandwich we had was delicious with friendly wrlcoming service. I will say they seem to be pretty strict on the no outside beverage thing, the course could use a little better upkeep, and the price is a little steep, but we will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

This course has the potential to be a great course but it’s unkept. One of the worst courses I’ve played on. I’ve never lost so many golf balls in my years of playing because you can’t find them in the long, uncut grass. Make sure you bring a lot of extra balls for this course. It’s not mowed, the grass was to long in places it shouldn’t have been. I wouldn’t ever go back.

Nice little bar/restaurant. We weren't super impressed by the food. It was decent, but doesn't knock your socks off. The pasta got was kind of bland and the sauce was watery. The breadstick was also bland. We took the pasta home and seasoned it up and it was excellent. It just needed more seasoning in my opinion. The brownies were delicious though! Really beautiful spot with outdoor seating as well.

A really fun, challenging course in the Hocking Hills/Logan area. The layout is great with a lot of challenging tee-shots, dog legs, and elevation. The greens are small but in great shape! I'm not going to hold the conditions of the rest of the course against them considering how hot & dry this summer has been. I think most courses are struggling with overall conditions this time of year and they're no different. If you're in the area it's worth a round. Also, the food in the clubhouse was terrific. Full bar with a few drafts and good whiskey selection.
