Hocking Hills Golf Club

Logan, Ohio, USASoutheastern Ohio

Hocking Hills Golf Club delivers an 18-hole public course experience with rolling parkland terrain and subtle elevation changes. It welcomes players of all levels with strategic fairways, small greens, and a clubhouse featuring relaxed dining and outdoor seating.

Course Overview

Hocking Hills Golf Club offers an 18-hole public layout that challenges players with its varied terrain and natural beauty set within the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio. The course features a parkland style with subtle elevation changes, well-placed bunkers, and moderate doglegs that demand thoughtful shot placement. Understated yet engaging, the course balances playability for beginners with strategic options that test more experienced golfers, making it an inviting destination for a broad range of skill levels.

The setting is defined by native grasses and mature trees that frame the fairways, inviting golfers to engage with the landscape’s quiet character. While the greens are known for their smaller size and smooth surfaces, they often encourage precision over power, adding an element of finesse to each round. The course’s layout integrates gentle slopes and elevation shifts, creating natural challenges without overwhelming newcomers.

Play conditions can vary seasonally, with summer months occasionally bringing drier fairways and firmer greens. Players are advised to bring extra golf balls and remain vigilant when navigating longer rough areas, as the course’s mowing routine can fluctuate with seasonal weather. Despite some recent maintenance inconsistencies, the course’s design maintains a rewarding rhythm from tee to green.

Golfers will find a clubhouse offering food and beverages with a modest bar menu and outdoor seating options that complement the peaceful atmosphere after a round. The clubhouse serves as a welcoming hub, providing space to relax and reflect on the day’s play. Walking is encouraged here, given the course’s moderate elevation changes and manageable yardage, though players should wear appropriate footwear to handle occasionally uneven footing.

Hocking Hills Golf Club holds appeal for those seeking a scenic, moderately challenging round in the Logan area, blending natural elements with accessible design. It offers a well-rounded experience for locals and visitors alike who appreciate courses where accuracy and course management are rewarded alongside moments of adventure.

A really fun, challenging course in the Hocking Hills/Logan area. The layout is great with a lot of challenging tee-shots, dog legs, and elevation. The greens are small but in great shape! I'm not going to hold the conditions of the rest of the course against them considering how hot & dry this summer has been. I think most courses are struggling with overall conditions this time of year and they're no different. If you're in the area it's worth a round. Also, the food in the clubhouse was terrific. Full bar with a few drafts and good whiskey selection.

I'm newer to golf, but this has been one of my favorite so far. Such a beautiful and challenging course. I honestly wished I'd gotten more pictures. The sandwich we had was delicious with friendly wrlcoming service. I will say they seem to be pretty strict on the no outside beverage thing, the course could use a little better upkeep, and the price is a little steep, but we will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Nice little bar/restaurant. We weren't super impressed by the food. It was decent, but doesn't knock your socks off. The pasta got was kind of bland and the sauce was watery. The breadstick was also bland. We took the pasta home and seasoned it up and it was excellent. It just needed more seasoning in my opinion. The brownies were delicious though! Really beautiful spot with outdoor seating as well.

This course has the potential to be a great course but it’s unkept. One of the worst courses I’ve played on. I’ve never lost so many golf balls in my years of playing because you can’t find them in the long, uncut grass. Make sure you bring a lot of extra balls for this course. It’s not mowed, the grass was to long in places it shouldn’t have been. I wouldn’t ever go back.
