Seward Community Golf Course
Seward Community Golf Course offers an approachable 9-hole parkland layout ideal for beginners and mid-handicap players seeking an affordable, well-maintained round. Its wide fairways and gentle terrain create a steady pace and inviting playability in southeastern Nebraska.
Course Overview
Seward Community Golf Course is a welcoming 9-hole layout located in Seward, Nebraska, offering an accessible and straightforward golf experience. As a public course, it appeals primarily to local players and visitors seeking an affordable, no-pressure round on well-maintained fairways. The course spans approximately 3,100 yards with a par of 36, providing a balanced challenge that suits beginners and mid-handicap golfers, while still offering enough variety for those aiming to refine their game.
The layout embraces a classic parkland style, with open fairways bordered by mature trees that occasionally frame the greens. Bunkers are present but strategically placed to challenge approach shots without overwhelming players who prioritize accuracy over distance. Water hazards are minimal, which helps maintain a steady pace of play and encourages risk-reward decisions on key holes.
Seward Community’s terrain is generally flat to gently rolling, adding to its playability and making walking the course a pleasant option for those who enjoy moving between holes at their own rhythm. The clubhouse acts as a modest yet functional hub, providing essential services including equipment rental and a pro shop.
For golfers planning their visit, the course offers rental carts, although walking is both possible and popular during the warmer months. Notable features include wide fairways that reduce the penalty for off-line shots and greens that reward well-placed iron play. While the course’s 9-hole format means it is often paired with a second round for a full 18-hole experience, the layout stands on its own with straightforward holes that emphasize fundamental shot-making.
Seward Community offers a setting free from excessive hazards or crowded fairways, which encourages a relaxed approach and steady improvement. It is an ideal stop for those traveling through southeastern Nebraska or for golfers looking for budget-friendly rounds. While service and pace of play can fluctuate, the course itself provides consistent conditions that invite repeated play and steady enjoyment.
Course Highlights
Seward Community emphasizes wide fairways and accessible play with a classic parkland design. Its lightly bunkered greens and gentle rolling terrain create a steady challenge without heavy penalties. While the course’s 9-hole layout is compact, it promotes shot accuracy and consistency, making it a valuable practice ground and casual play option in the region.

One of the best priced Golf Courses around. Only Cost $44 to play 18 holes with a cart. Also the course was in great shape for it only being April too.

I recently booked a tee time for three groups of 4, we had a great time and the course was in great shape. The clubhouse attendant however was not friendly at all, and would hardly talk to us, when he checked us in he made us feel that we were a bother to him, not sure if it was because we were all from out of town or what. All of my buddies noticed this too. He never said "thanks for coming" or "appreciate your business" I tried to get him to engage after our round, and commented that the course was in great shape, his response? "Yep" When we finished our round we started to back our carts up by the fence by the #1 tee, he came outside and barked at us to pull our carts over to another area. I book 3 rounds every summer for anywhere from 10 to 18 people, we'd love to come back but if this is the way we'll be treated we'll go elsewhere with our money, which by my conservative estimate we spent over $700

Called and was given a tee time at 10:30, drove 30 miles to get there on time only to be but behind several groups of 6 golfers. Who approves such a thing. 6 golfers that can’t golf should never be put in same group. When I asked the person in charge she said the manager had approved it. Although the course seemed like a nice little course, we were only able to finish 5 holes in 2 hours. Very disappointed in the Seward community golf course.

Good golf here, wide fairways and not alot of hazards. 9 hole course with alot to offer. Driving range was limited as they did not have anyone to go pick up balls, so call ahead before you go to make sure. We showed up an hour early to hit balls first. Other than that, course plays well.
