Davie Golf Club

Davie, Florida, USASouth Florida

Davie Golf Club is an approachable 18-hole public course in South Florida where firm, undulating greens and strategic water hazards create an engaging round. This no-frills layout balances challenge with value, offering a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by local wildlife.

Course Overview

Davie Golf Club presents a straightforward yet engaging golf experience that appeals to a broad range of players seeking both challenge and value. This 18-hole public course, located in Davie, Florida, weaves through a landscape marked by mature trees, sparkling water hazards, and abundant South Florida wildlife including iguanas and turtles. The layout demands thoughtful shot-making, with water coming into play on several holes, inviting strategic decisions from tee to green.

Greens at Davie Golf Club stand out as a defining feature. Maintained with evident care, they possess a firm and fast surface punctuated by heavy undulations that reward precise putting. Golfers across skill levels find them both fair and intriguing, creating putting challenges that enliven the overall round. While some tee boxes and fairways show signs of wear, these imperfections do little to dampen the enjoyment here, especially given the accessible green fees.

The course’s flat terrain and generous fairways offer an approachable setting for beginners and higher handicaps, while the tricky green complexes and strategic water placements test more experienced players. The absence of a traditional clubhouse underscores the course’s no-frills approach. Facilities currently include a simple check-in trailer and a beverage cart, contributing to a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere that emphasizes golf over glamor.

Walking the course is entirely feasible, with well-kept paths and manageable distances between holes. Soft spikes or comfortable golf shoes are advisable given occasional soft ground conditions. Push carts are available, aiding those choosing to traverse on foot. Despite a casual environment, staff remain welcoming and attentive, ensuring a smooth pace of play even on busy days.

For golfers seeking a fun, affordable round amid Florida’s subtropical charms, Davie Golf Club offers a refreshing alternative to resort-style complexes. Its blend of natural scenery, solid course conditioning, and subtle challenges cultivates a satisfying outing for players looking to focus on the game rather than extras. With planned improvements like a clubhouse rebuild on the horizon, this local gem continues to grow its appeal.

Course Highlights

The course features firm and fast greens renowned for challenging undulations, combined with several water hazards that demand strategic play. The course plays to a par 72 over roughly 6200 yards, offering approachable but testing golf for a range of skill levels.

Had a great round at Davie Golf Course. The greens were phenomenal—some of the best in the area. They’re not only well-maintained, but also challenging, with heavy and unique undulation that makes putting both fun and demanding. A few fairways and tee boxes were in rough shape, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The staff was friendly, and the service was excellent throughout. Pace of play was a little slow at times, but manageable. Overall, it’s a great course with standout greens and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.

The greens on this course are terrific. Better than some private clubs around town. Very challenging course with lots of water and tough hole placements. You can’t come here and play and have lunch in a clubhouse as there is no clubhouse , just a small trailer to sign in. When they build the clubhouse back it will be perfect.

Great value!! No frills. Like, literally zero frills. We would go back. I’m a 13 handicap and my sister is a beginner, high handicapper so we wanted a decent place to play on a Tuesday morning where we could have fun and not be rushed or pressured by resort golf atmosphere. This place was perfect for that. Staff were super-friendly and laid back. There was a beverage cart, which sells used golf balls too. Push carts are available. At no point in time did I feel the quality of the course impacted my play. I wouldn’t mind if they trimmed a few trees though. Greens played fair; fairways were adequate. A lot of water. If you’re just looking for a fun $65 round - Davie GC works. If you’re looking for a premium resort experience, I’d look elsewhere. Simple improvements - ball washers and trash cans. Better signage around tee box locations. Restore the driving range.

Great course not just for the value but truly a fun course to play. Greens were in amazing shape and the holes were different and challenging. Scenery with wildlife was great to look at while waiting for rain delay. Rental clubs were nice and in good shape, and good pricing. Will play again!

Fun yet challenging course for such a low fee. In great shape with beautiful trees, iguanas, turtles and birds. Lots of water and not an easy course but a tremendous find.

Very dissatisfied they did not lower their price to summer rates. I played yesterday there was cut grass everywhere. Tea boxes are starting to look pretty bad. They offer no amenities, ball washers, drinking water, etc. I really enjoyed playing there, but there are a lot of other courses that are in great shape for less or around the same price that offer quite a few amenities. Please talk to the officials at Davie. Please do not let the course go downhill. Thanks.
