Pleasant View Golf Course

Middleton, Wisconsin, USASouth Central Wisconsin

Pleasant View Golf Course blends varied 27-hole parkland-style layouts with a par-3 course to offer a rich, accessible golfing experience near Middleton, Wisconsin. Recent renovations have elevated strategic challenges across the Prairie and Lake nines, set amid well-maintained fairways and greens that welcome players of all skill levels.

Course Overview

Set against the gently rolling landscape of Middleton, Wisconsin, Pleasant View Golf Course offers an engaging golfing experience suited to a broad range of players. Featuring 27 holes divided into three distinct nines, along with a par-3 course, this public facility skillfully balances approachable playability with thoughtful challenge. The layout flows through open prairie expanses and wooded corridors, creating a dynamic blend of parkland-style holes that respond to natural terrain and wind conditions.

Each of the three nines presents its own character. The Woods course weaves through mature trees, demanding precise shot placement, while the Prairie course opens to sweeping views and large greens that invite more creative strategy. The Lake course, enhanced through recent renovations, showcases water features and reimagined bunkering that provide both visual appeal and strategic complexity. These updates have sharpened the course’s tactical demands without sacrificing its inviting nature.

Maintainance stands out here, with fairways and greens kept in excellent condition year-round, enhancing firm and fast play especially during the summer months. The course’s opening holes welcome players with straightforward lines, gradually introducing more elevated tee shots and guarded greens that test control and nerve. The par-3 layout serves as both a fun warm-up and skill-building segment, with holes carved around picturesque natural elements.

Pleasant View’s clubhouse complements the golf with a casual dining option and a welcoming atmosphere, ideal for regrouping after your round. Walking is encouraged and easy over this terrain, and golfers often appreciate the balance of exercise and strategic fun. Whether you seek a relaxed round or a round that challenges your accuracy and decision-making, Pleasant View provides an accessible yet stimulating golf outing within easy reach of Madison.

In all, Pleasant View Golf Course presents a compelling option for players who value thoughtful course design married to a friendly, well-maintained environment. Planning a trip here means preparing for visual variety, strategic shots, and an experience that feels both rewarding and refreshingly genuine.

Course Highlights

Pleasant View distinguishes itself with three distinct 9-hole courses—Woods, Prairie, and Lake—each offering a unique test of golf. The Woods course challenges players with tighter fairways and tree-lined holes, demanding accuracy and shot shaping. The Prairie nine rewards creative strategy with broad fairways and large, undulating greens. Renovation efforts on the Lake course have introduced refined bunkering and hydraulic hazards, increasing strategic depth while enhancing the visual scene. An additional 9-hole par-3 layout provides practice opportunities and a quick, enjoyable round for all ages.

I can’t recommend Pleasant View enough! Jeremy and his team accommodated our group of 8 from start to finish. Lindsay and the food/bev staff took great care of us on the course. Fun course, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I have been regularly playing PVGC since 2022 and this course for me ranks top in terms of quality golf for the price you pay. Every hole feels unique and provides their own challenges. The design of the course is well-done and there are only 1 or 2 holes that I can think of that are poor in design philosophy. The rest are picturesque and memorable. If you have not played here since the renovations, do check it out as updates on Praire 8 and Lake 6 have breathed some fresh designs into this course.

Beautiful course that's very popular. 27 holes plus a par 3 nine hole course. The scenery is sometimes out of a golf simulator it's so perfect. Fun holes that challenge you and are interesting. Nice little grill in the clubhouse with solid food. You really can't go wrong here.

This is an updated review. The Lake 9 is so awesome now with the new changes. #2 is now a monster hole and so much better built. #3 new bunker means you cannot be right. #5 pond redo with stones is gorgeous. #6 view off the tee is now open and bunkers frame hole better. #8 new green is a punch bowl and pin placements will make it fun. Also the new green on Prairie #8 looks well thought out being left of the hill. Now let's get a second practice putting green on the ledge between range and Clubhouse and make it huge, touch the 3 par 5's on the Prairie course with refinement and review #4,5,6,7 holes on the Woods and what can be done to improve. Great job!

Beautiful course that also provided a fun and challenging round. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The course itself was well maintained with great views (note: a few holes are currently being reworked. One temporary green when I was there). The management of the course was evident in the condition of the fairways and greens and some holes (as mentioned) are being redesigned and look promising. I highly recommend this course.
