Course Overview

Village Greens Golf Course in Port Orchard, Washington, offers a practical and approachable 18-hole par-3 layout that draws both newcomers and seasoned players looking to sharpen their short game. This public course focuses on precision and touch rather than length, making it a valuable destination for practicing approach shots, pitching, and putting. The course's relatively compact design places an emphasis on accuracy and course management where every green feels within reach, yet sufficiently guarded by bunkers and subtle slopes that challenge your club selection and control.

The landscape of Village Greens presents a comfortable blend of mature trees and open sightlines, providing modest shade while keeping visibility clear for each hole. Players will notice uneven turf conditions in some areas during dry spells, especially in summer months, but the greens have been the subject of recent renovations to enhance their smoothness and speed. These improvements have significantly elevated the putting surfaces, rewarding those who read the greens thoughtfully.

Beyond the course, the facility is equipped with a covered driving range, plus dedicated putting and chipping greens that allow players to warm up and work on specific facets of their game regardless of weather. This versatility, combined with affordable pricing and a welcoming atmosphere, makes Village Greens a favored local resource for golfers committed to steady improvement without the pressure of a traditional long-course layout.

While golf carts are available upon request, walking is encouraged to better experience the course’s layout and pace of play, with footwear recommended for firm turf and occasional gravel paths. The pro shop staff is attentive, assisting with equipment needs and local insights. Visitors should note that clear signage could improve navigation between some holes, as the course’s layout can confuse first-timers.

Village Greens is a sturdy community gem that balances accessibility with enough strategic interest to hold a golfer’s attention. It’s a practical choice for players seeking focused short game practice or a casual round in a friendly setting, all within easy reach of Port Orchard’s scenic surroundings.

Course Highlights

Village Greens stands out for its dedicated short game focus, featuring a full 18-hole par-3 layout that challenges precision over power. The course includes a covered driving range and separate putting and chipping greens, supporting focused practice sessions year-round. The course’s mature trees provide pockets of shade and subtle wind variations that test a player's ability to control trajectory and spin. Village Greens combines a straightforward layout with practical amenities to appeal to players aiming for improvement without the scale of a full-length course.

It’s a great course to work on approach and pitching but i didn’t appreciate the guy working at the pro shop. Had some attitude about me showing up one minute late but little did buddy know that I got in a fender bender on the way to the course. But after that it was just a busy day out there for some golf.

Very tight fairways, lots of trees, tiny elevated greens but thankfully not very slippery. My wife and I will be playing there again.

We played Village Greens July 3rd 2025. First I want to say the booking and check in was a very good experience… nice folks! The Yamaha gas carts are a little rough and dirty. We had to change out our first one because of a loose starter belt. The second one would suddenly lurch when accelerating threatening whiplash. Overall the course (in July) appears to be under watered, and the rough is dry hard pan with small stones and short dried brown grass. I refuse to hit off a surface that would ruin my club. We found the course a little confusing. Even though the score card had a little map, a couple of times we had to ask other players where the next tee box was 😟. Despite the negative we did have fun and benefited from the short iron play.

Incredible value on a smaller but challenging course. I’ve had a ball playing this course on a monthly pass that is the best golf bargain I’ve ever seen. And it has a covered driving range, plus separate practice greens for putting and chipping. And man, do I need all that! Friendly staff too. And I’ve seen the grounds crew out there working every day. I’m able to play as much golf as I want, and without having to take out a second mortgage to finance it. Amazing. (BTW - I see reviews mentioning good practice for irons, which is true, but I don’t hit irons 289 yards for example, so I find it’s good practice for woods as well.) Update 7/22: Major work done on the greens last winter. Excellent putting surface now. My compliments!

This is a nice 18 hole community Golf course for a par 3 course. Low budget course so not much watering but plenty of shade. For two people with Military discount it was $20 dollars for nine holes. On average we take about 1 and half hours for 9 holes. Great staff, has small Pro shop, driving range, putting green, and a chipping Green. Enjoy a nice afternoon on a not so crowded course.

It's close to our home and the staff have been very friendly. We like their driving range because it's covered.
