Madrona Links Golf Course

Gig Harbor, Washington, USAPuget Sound

Madrona Links in Gig Harbor, Washington, presents an inviting 18-hole public golf experience shaped by the Pacific Northwest landscape. Players of all levels encounter strategic challenges amid rolling terrain and scenic views, while friendly staff and solid amenities create a welcoming atmosphere.

Course Overview

Located in the scenic waterfront community of Gig Harbor, Washington, Madrona Links Golf Course offers an accessible yet spirited challenge for golfers of varying skill levels. This 18-hole public course unfolds across a gently rolling landscape that takes advantage of its pacific northwest setting, combining open fairways with pockets of mature trees and water hazards that demand thoughtful shot-making.

Madrona Links is known for its approachable layout that balances playability with strategic opportunities. While it does not boast extreme length, precision and course management are rewarded, especially around the greens guarded by undulating contours and well-placed bunkers. Subtle elevation changes throughout the course enhance the variety of shots and test golfers’ ability to read breaks and wind shifts common to the region.

The course resonates with a down-to-earth Pacific Northwest character. Views of the surrounding ridge lines and water add a backdrop without overshadowing the gameplay itself. It’s a course that encourages steady tempo and concentration rather than brute power, making it well-suited for mid to high handicappers seeking an enjoyable round without excessive frustration. More experienced players will find holes requiring tactical finesse, particularly when navigating strategic hazards and tighter landing zones.

A practical highlight for visitors is the welcoming pro shop staff, who consistently receive positive feedback for their friendliness and helpfulness. Amenities include a functional practice area and a clubhouse with dining options that complete the experience. While the greens and fairways at times reflect the course’s exposure to seasonal rains, maintenance efforts strive to keep playing conditions fair and consistent.

Traffic can be busy given its status as Gig Harbor’s only public course, so planning ahead with tee time reservations is advised. Walking is popular here, aided by clear cart paths and moderate terrain; sturdy shoes recommended for softer spots after wet weather.

Madrona Links delivers a sincere golf outing framed by natural beauty and a community atmosphere. It is a favored local venue where thoughtful play is rewarded and a round of golf becomes both a test and a welcome retreat.

Course Highlights

Madrona Links is defined by its strategic yet accessible design that rewards accuracy over distance. The course integrates modest elevation changes, water hazards, and well-placed bunkers that shape a thoughtful playing experience. Despite its relatively short length, it challenges golfers to manage approach shots and putts carefully. The friendly service and practical amenities complement the landscape, making it a community favorite in Gig Harbor.

Anyone who’s leaving a review about bad staff is just flat out lying!! Everyone who works on pro shop is super cool. I didn’t want to name names who left review but it’s obvious who. As far as course getting backed up? You take me to 1 single course people like to play & you don’t get a small backup & I’ll only play there the rest of my life. It’s expected when there’s different caliber of players. There’s a. difference between golfers & players. If you’re a player you’ll know what I’m talking about. HEY EVERYONE WHO READS REVIEWS BEFORE THEY PLAY A GOLF COURSE, YOU WILL ENJOY MADRONA LINKS

First time playing this course, not very long but you need to be on your game very challenging. But we had a great time, prices are comparable to other courses but well worth the trip over the narrows bridge. You will need to pay the toll fee if you live on the other side.

This course deserves 3 stars at most. I’m not usually one to complain, but living here in Gig harbor, and being an avid golfer, I’m hoping something changed with this course sooner rather than later. Everytime I’ve gone here I’ve been met with bad attitude from the clerk. This course itself isn’t kept up very well, during winter the greens are flooded, puddles every where, muddy in lots of places on the fairways. Tee times are always packed out, so you’re usually waiting behind a group, while another group is waiting on and rushing you. Being the only public course in gig harbor, you’d expect a little bit more from the owner. It’s always booked up so I’m sure it’s profitable, May be that the profit is just being pocketed. The “range” is literally a 20 yard wide field with no safety nets, just hopes and prayers for the balls not to hit anyone on the first hole. It is a really nice piece of land, and can be a nice course if the right ownership takes charge, but not now.

Course is in good shape and recommend playing. From tee to green pretty good all around, but definitely some spots on the course that need to be marked ground under repair or marked in general so not being penalized for what could be considered a good shot. Hitting off a dirt spot green side or near the fairway is pretty bad and that’s pretty normal on a few holes unfortunately.

I love this course, but it’s getting beat up by golfers who have zero Etiquette for golf or a golf course. If I were the Marshal people would be getting the boot. Saw someone today miss a short putt waiting on #13. He smashed the flag down next to the hole. I fixed the gash in the grass when we got to the green. Yelled to him that was unnecessary. He gave me the flying bird & said I don't own the place, but told him I do know the owner & management. They skipped #13 & never saw them again. I teed off at 12:24 so it was the 12: 16 tee time. Whoever they were. Take care of the course & it will take care of you. Prices go up when it takes more to keep in good shape. Remember that. The person who left the review below is SO FIULL OF IT!!! No one who works here is rude in anyway. It is also physically impossible to get hit by a ball on tee 1 when hitting on the range. Even from blue tees. Who crapped in your Cheerios?? There’s always decent tee times available here. Another lie
