Auburn Golf Course

Auburn, Washington, USAPuget Sound

Auburn Golf Course presents an 18-hole parkland-style layout that blends accessible playability with subtle elevation changes. Well-groomed greens and fairways make it a welcoming stop for golfers seeking a solid round in a scenic Northwest setting.

Course Overview

Auburn Golf Course offers an engaging 18-hole layout that balances challenge and enjoyment for golfers of varied skill levels. Located just off Green River Road in Auburn, Washington, this public course lays out a straightforward but pleasant experience marked by well-maintained fairways and soft, receptive greens. The course stretches over a respectable yardage that provides enough length for strategic shot making without becoming daunting for mid-handicap players.

The routing leans on a parkland style, with gently rolling terrain and pockets of mature trees that frame fairways without overwhelming the landscape. Elevation changes subtly influence club selection, especially on the back nine, where several holes introduce slight uphill or downhill shots that break up the rhythm and require attention to yardage control. The fairways are generally generous, making it accommodating for players who prefer to swing freely without constant penalization.

Condition-wise, Auburn delivers consistent footing and smooth turf throughout the season. Greens are known for their soft texture and true roll, rewarding careful putting while still demanding focus on read and pace. Bunkers are well-kept and strategically placed near landing zones and around the greens, lending a touch of risk and reward to approach shots.

Players looking for a pace that suits a relaxed round will appreciate the course’s walkability. The terrain is manageable on foot, and the surroundings offer pleasant scenery with a mixture of open meadow and tree-lined holes. The clubhouse and onsite amenities support a comfortable day of golf, with a friendly pro shop and dining options providing a nice break after 18 holes.

Whether you arrive early morning to enjoy cooler air or later in the afternoon with the sun dipping low, Auburn Golf Course welcomes golfers seeking solid value and a straightforward test without overwhelming difficulty. It suits recreational players and those sharpening their all-around game, delivering an approachable but thoughtfully designed golf experience in the heart of Auburn.

Felt like a steal riding this course for $70 bucks on Labor Day weekend. Conditions were great, particularly the greens. Front nine layout was fairly standard, but the back is loaded with unique challenges. We rented clubs, and they were solid for only $30. Big time hot dog at the turn and solid food at the restaurant after. Staff was exceptional.

Played all 18 on this course and thoroughly enjoyed it. The entire course is in fantastic shape and condition. Soft playable greens, very well kept bunkers. Lots of straight fairways with room on both sides for those of us who play Army golf.... you know....left, right, left, right. Great scenic views and some good elevation changes. I will absolutely be playing this course many more times in th future.

IMO Auburn is overpriced for the course. A couple of nice holes, but nothing just grabs you. My wife and I paid $143 for two rounds of golf, one riding in a cart on a Monday (Memorial Day so maybe weekend rates?). It was a 5 1/2-hour plus round. The pace of play was extremely slow and uneven, and we never saw a Marshall. Greens were peppered with ball marks, I repaired probably 5 per hole. There are more scenic courses that are better maintained (or at least golfers have more course etiquette) and with better pace management for less money. Don't get me wrong the course can be fun, and the pro shop is extremely friendly, but a little overpriced for what you get.
