Glendoveer Golf & Tennis

Portland, Oregon, USAPortland Metro

Glendoveer Golf & Tennis in Portland, Oregon, offers a welcoming public layout with 27 challenging parkland holes. Combining technology-forward practice facilities with an urban natural setting, it appeals to golfers across all skill levels seeking variety and playability in a lively city environment.

Course Overview

Glendoveer Golf & Tennis offers a distinct golf experience within Portland’s urban sprawl, presenting 27 holes spread across two distinct 9-hole courses. The design leans toward a parkland style, with tree-lined fairways and gently rolling terrain that blend with the neighborhood’s natural greenspaces. Players encounter a layout that balances approachability with moments of challenge, making it inviting for a wide range of skill levels, from beginners looking to learn the game to more seasoned golfers seeking to sharpen their short game.

The course is public and accessible year-round, although the turf’s condition can fluctuate with Portland’s rainy climate, leading to softer ground and occasional mud patches. Each course offers a unique character: the West course is favored for its fun yet testing holes, with fairways that demand strategic positioning off the tee, while the East course presents tight, technical shots that reward precision. The presence of flora and urban wildlife adds a subtle natural soundtrack to play, with reports of coyotes and rabbits occasionally visible near the greens, lending an unexpected interaction with the environment.

Glendoveer’s facilities extend beyond the fairways, featuring a multi-level driving range equipped with technology reminiscent of entertainment-focused golf venues, including personal screens at each bay. Dedicated putting and chipping greens, along with a practice bunker, support golfers intent on improving all facets of their game. The clubhouse and tennis facilities complete the recreational offering, making the site a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.

Walking is encouraged, though the ground may become soft after rain, so players are advised to wear shoes with good traction. Staff are known for their attentiveness, enhancing the overall atmosphere with friendly service. For those planning a trip, early morning tee times can provide quieter conditions and a more contemplative round, especially before neighbors awaken to the city’s bustle. Glendoveer is a practical choice for accessible golf embedded in an urban setting, where the landscape invites players to test fundamentals across diverse holes without the intimidation of a championship-only course.

Course Highlights

Glendoveer’s two 9-hole courses provide contrasting challenges, from tight, technical shots on the East course to more open and strategic play on the West course. The facility is notable for its double-deck driving range incorporating interactive technology screens, alongside dedicated practice areas for putting, chipping, and bunker play. Wildlife sightings, including coyotes near the fairways, add a rare touch of wilderness within city limits.

I love this course. ⛳🏌🏾 Even when it's so cold you can't get your tees in the ground. We did the first 9 holes on the east side, I recommend it, fun and hard at the same time. Nice to be outside.

This is one of my favorite courses to date. The pro shop is extremely helpful and friendly. You can't even tell tell you are in the city when your on the course. The greens flow good and smooth. Will go again next time I'm in Portland.

My first impressions are pretty good! There are lots of things to do here, so you never get bored! The buildings are a little run-down because this is quite on old place, but It didn’t really bother me. The trail around the golf course is definitely a good addition. There are lots of people here, about every day of the week, and the neighborhood is also not the best. It gets REALLY muddy when it rains. If I could, I would leave 4.5 stars.

Best golf facility I've ever been to. The range is mats, but the good kind. There are two floors of bays and they have the same technology that top golf has, a personal screen at each bay. There is a dedicated putting and chipping green, with a practice bunker. 27 holes make the course fun to mix and match. The wildlife here is also very unique, which I won't spoil for you, but if you come at the right times, you're in for a fun surprise.

Played my first round of golf here today. I love the front 9 on the west side. Not a fan of the back 9. I still had a good time today. I was surprised to see Coyotes just hanging out and walking around everyone. The staff are really friendly. I appreciated the cart woman checking in on us from time to time. We will be back. I will definitely be back. I want to learn this course like the back of my hand.

Both courses are in good shape, although the West course grass was a little long this week. A lot of coyotes on the course, relaxing alongside greens, playing on the fairways and chasing bunnies
