Waterford, Pennsylvania, USANorthwest Pennsylvania

Mound Grove Golf Course offers a welcoming 18-hole public layout in Waterford, PA, merging approachable design with subtle challenges. Its rolling fairways and strategic green complexes invite players of all levels to enjoy a well-balanced round complemented by community-focused amenities.

Course Overview

Mound Grove Golf Course presents a classic, approachable 18-hole layout set within the gently rolling landscape of Waterford, Pennsylvania. This public course offers a straightforward, traditional experience that welcomes golfers of all skill levels while rewarding strategic play. The fairways stretch across well-maintained terrain featuring modest elevation changes that subtly influence club selection and shot trajectory. With a par of 72 and total yardage stretching just over 6,100 yards, the course balances length and precision to provide a fair but engaging round.

This layout favors shot-shaping and course management over brute force. The course weaves through mature trees and modest bunkering, providing clear landing zones and inviting tee shots while still demanding thoughtfulness in approach play. Smaller, receptive greens challenge putters to read subtle breaks and speed, enhancing scoring opportunities when approached carefully. The back nine features a mix of holes that require accurate drives and delicate short-game touches, with two consecutive par-5s setting the stage for birdie chances or potential pitfalls.

Mound Grove is celebrated not only for its golf but also for its clubhouse amenities which serve as a hub for community and social activity. Players often highlight the friendly atmosphere from the moment they arrive, complemented by a well-stocked pro shop and dining facilities known for hearty fare. The course encourages walking, with carts readily available for those who prefer, and the course’s conditioning generally holds up well across seasons, though wetter months can influence green speed.

For visitors planning a round, sturdy footwear is recommended to navigate the occasionally soft fairways and the modest hills that add dimension to play. The course’s inclusive design invites families, seniors, and beginners while still offering enough tactical nuance to engage more seasoned players. Whether chasing a personal best or enjoying a casual round, Mound Grove delivers an honest golfing experience framed by warmth and everyday charm.

Course Highlights

Mound Grove stands out for a straightforward parkland-style layout with a sequence of two back-to-back par-5s on the back nine that test course management. The course’s friendly atmosphere combined with its well-kept greens and natural tree-lined fairways offers a balanced challenge tailored to all levels. Its dining facilities and active community events contribute to an inviting overall experience.

HOW can they change their cart price according to how the greens fees are being taken care of. If it's 24 to walk and 32 with a cart I shouldn't be paying 15$ for the cart when I have payed for the greens fees with my Andover bank golf card. Also who has two back to back par 5s and two back to back par 3s all on the back 9. Stroked me an extra 7$ for the cart they really must be hurting for the cash. This will be my last option of courses to play in erie county. I can recall another time I went here 2 years ago and they said there was a league but we would be fine to go off the back..... yeah right! If you like to play 9 holes in over 3 hours go right ahead. PLENTY OF OTHER COURSES IN ERIE TO PLAY YOU AINT MISSING NOTHING HERE.

We used our dining club card on a Friday night and the waitress was very nice. We enjoyed great service and plenty of delicious food. The fish fry is delicious with three large Haddock pieces. We will be here again to support a local charity. Mound Grove supports multiple charities with their wonderful facilities.

Rode the buggies out for lunch. Great food, great service and the folks were nice enough to drag a hose out so we could rinse windows before heading back! What a gesture for some out of town folks!!!!! Awesome people. We will be back

Went to dinner last night with friends . We had reservations . The live music was good but way too loud as we could hear the people at our own table . We asked the waitress if they could turn it down just a notch and she said others asked also and no they couldn’t turn it down . It took two hours to get our food and most of it was simply warm or cold . By the time we received our meals we were frustrated and simply did not enjoy it .All three tables around us said they waited that long also . The owner was there but was not helping the staff overcome the delays . Not the best experience.

Amazing place! Got married here on 10/03/2020 and the owner, staff and overall atmosphere was so amazing! Best day of my life and they helped make it that. The food, the drinks, the rustic feel- everything was perfect!
