Tamarack Resort Golf Course

McCall, Idaho, USANorthwest Idaho

Tamarack Resort Golf Course offers a mountain-style 18-hole layout where elevation changes and native landscapes frame a thoughtful, strategic round. Set in Idaho’s serene McCall region, it provides a blend of natural beauty and playability suited to a range of skill levels.

Course Overview

Tamarack Resort Golf Course in McCall, Idaho offers an 18-hole challenge set against a dramatic mountain backdrop, blending natural beauty with thoughtful design. This resort course provides a mountain-style layout where elevation changes and native vegetation shape both the strategy and the scenery. Golfers encounter fairways bordered by towering pines and native grasses, demanding careful shot placement while rewarding accuracy and course management.

The course exhibits generous fairways that invite players of varying skill levels to engage, yet it also offers subtle complexities in green contours and bunkering that test precision. Greens roll true underfoot but present challenging slopes that require a keen touch with the putter. Elevation shifts do more than frame the surroundings – they influence club selection and demand adaptability. Here, the mountain winds subtly influence ball flight and tempo, inviting players to use both skill and judgment.

Tamarack's fairways maintain a lush character during the prime season, though the course is still refining its conditioning and infrastructure as it continues development. Bunkers are filled with bright white sand, contrasting sharply with the deep greens and browns of the environment. The course’s standout moments include several holes where tee shots fall away from elevated perches, rewarding distance control and strategic thinking.

Visitors to Tamarack enjoy additional amenities typical of a mountain resort setting, including a welcoming clubhouse that serves as a base for both relaxation and preparation. While services are evolving, players benefit from attentive staff and a strong sense of solitude uncommon in busier destinations. Walking the course is recommended to fully appreciate its textured terrain and varying slopes, though cart use is available.

For golfers seeking a mountain golf experience that balances natural beauty with a layout that challenges without overwhelming, Tamarack Resort Golf Course offers a compelling option. The combination of panoramic views, thoughtful hole design, and a peaceful environment complements the outdoor adventure of the McCall area, making each round an opportunity to engage multiple senses and sharpen one’s game.

It was one of the top 10 I've played. Challenging dog legs mixed with the requirements to pick your landing spots. The greens were perfect. The views were even better. A 10

I recently had the pleasure of playing 9 holes on Tamarack's Osprey, their newly reopened golf course, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived Dustin, Scott, Alex, and Jordan were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable round of golf. The course itself was a treat for the senses. While there were a few lengthy cart rides between a couple of holes, the stunning views of the lake and mountains more than made up for it. The natural beauty of the surroundings added to the overall charm of the course and provided a peaceful day of golf. The greens and fairways were in impeccable condition. The maintenance team at Tamarack has clearly put a lot of effort into getting this course in top shape. The greens rolled true, and the fairways were lush and inviting, making for a pleasurable and challenging game of golf. In conclusion, Tamarack's Osprey golf course is a must-visit for any golfer. The combination of a friendly and attentive staff, breathtaking views, and well-maintained fairways and greens make it a top-notch golfing destination. I look forward to returning for a full 18-hole round when they open the remaining 9 holes in July '24.

Gorgeous course with a great layout! Greens were all you could ask for, fast and true. Fairways are lush, rough is long and places a premium on well placed tee shots and approaches. Bunkers had a generous amount of beautiful white sand. Native area frames the course nicely and the elevation changes create some stunning views and tee shots. 19th “gamblers hole” was a really cool addition, a down hill par 3 guarded by a pond in front. Dustin and the staff in the golf shop were very friendly and welcoming. If you are in the McCall area you have to check this course out!

The course has some well designed cool holes, but it is certainly not worth the money at this point. They should still be giving a discounted rate as the course is still under construction. The paths have mud, dirt, and rocks on all sides leading well into the fairways, huge dead patches, shabby grass areas, and not well-groomed bunkers. The course could be nice one day, but it's not there yet. For the price save your money and go play one of the other great courses up that way. What really sets this course apart and into the negative are the amenities...NO drinks, water, food, in the club house. Nothing. There is one bar cart roaming the course which we saw once in 18 holes. No ice in the coolers, no signage on where to go or how to even get to the clubhouse (that is through a parking garage by the way), it was just not a great experience. The staff was not helpful and somewhat rude, didn't seem to care about much, and provided little to no information, even when asked direct questions. I've played many resort courses, and this is just not a resort type of experience. I have been to the shabbiest of Muni's that have better amenities than Osprey Meadows. Give this place a few years and maybe it will be better, but for now, not worth it.

One of the best courses in the northwest! Outstanding greens, challenging yet scenic layout, and top notch location. Re-imagined course is even better than the original!

The course is amazing but the service was not even close. You pay the prices to play there and they don't tell you there is no drink cart. And when you call and ask they say it's not there fault the other people need to hire more. No communication just go.play and pay me 180.00 for your golf. Oh and when you are done go to the bar for a drink but no food. It was an amazing course but need some better training or whatever they call it there.
