Course Overview

Located in Cohutta, Georgia, Nob North Golf Course offers a challenging yet approachable 18-hole layout that has become a favored destination for golfers across the Chattanooga and Dalton area. This public course presents a carefully maintained parkland style with broad fairways that invite confident drives while demanding strategic shot placement. Sharp doglegs and selective trees line the routing, providing a thoughtful test for golfers who appreciate a mix of navigation and raw ball striking.

The course's terrain is gentle but varied, making elevation changes subtle but enough to influence club selection and approach angles. Large, undulating greens are a defining characteristic, inviting precision and touch around the putting surfaces. Players should prepare for the quickness and complexity of these greens, which reward patience and thorough green reading.

Golfers new to Nob North will find GPS-equipped carts helpful for navigating the blind tee shots and tight doglegs that pepper the layout. The open fairways encourage a wide range of playing styles, making the course accessible to mid- and high-handicap players, while still presenting the challenge low handicaps seek.

The setting borders natural woodlands and gentle streams, creating a quiet atmosphere interrupted only by the rhythmic sound of shots and distant birdcalls. While the course is known for excellent maintenance, wet weather occasionally affects drainage, so scheduling a round after several dry days is advisable.

Amenities include a pro shop and on-site beverage sales, offering a short refreshment break during your round. Tee times fill quickly, especially on weekends, so advance booking is recommended. Walking is permitted, though the hilly stretches and some softer fairways after rain suggest comfortable footwear.

Nob North Golf Course combines a thoughtful layout, accessible challenge, and solid hospitality, attracting regulars and visitors alike. Whether testing your short game on the expansive greens or planning your strategy around the doglegs, this course offers an engaging golfing experience amid Georgia’s scenic foothills.

Beautiful course. Well maintained. The GPS on carts will help 1st timers with all the sharp doglegs and blind tee shots. Be ready for some 3 putts on fast, undulating greens. Best public course around. Definitely worth the drive from Chattanooga Dalton or surrounding areas.

Great place, kinda pricey compared to other courses around the area. Need to make tee time if you want to play any day of week. Big greens, open fairways. Does sell beer

Golf course is decent , The pro-shop staff horrible , tried to make a tee time online it would not let me for 1 person called the pro-shop to make the tee time the man on the phone was made because he had to do it getting a attitude the whole time on the phone , that's why this place has gotten the nickname snob-north instead of nob-north , change the personalities in the pro-shop this alone will make this golf course a lot better .

The course layout is great, but the drainage system is extremely poor. I understand it rained about a week ago, but the ground should have dried out in four days. Instead, it felt like we were playing in mud.
