Lost Key Golf Club

Pensacola, Florida, USANorthwest Florida

Lost Key Golf Club offers an 18-hole, par-72 coastal layout that blends rolling terrain with natural salt marshes and Gulf breezes. This public course balances strategic challenge with player-friendly design, appealing to a wide range of skill levels amid a relaxed beachside setting.

Course Overview

Lost Key Golf Club presents an engaging test of golf designed for players who appreciate thoughtful strategy alongside the natural elements of a coastal environment. This public 18-hole course stretches just over 7,000 yards from the back tees, offering a par-72 layout that balances challenge and approachability. Its coastal style is defined by gently rolling terrain framed by native grasses, salt marshes, and glimpses of the nearby Gulf waters. The setting provides a refreshing breeze that not only cools but challenges golfers to adjust their shots, rewarding precise ball striking and course management.

The course’s design integrates fairways that undulate subtly, demanding steady judgment off the tee, while greens are varied in shape and speed, protected by bunkers strategically positioned to guard the scoring areas. The mix of natural features and man-made hazards encourages creativity, making each round feel distinct. While the course offers enough challenge to engage low handicappers, it remains accessible for mid and higher handicappers who find generous fairway widths and multiple teeing options helpful in tailoring their experience.

Beyond the fairways, Lost Key Golf Club offers a clubhouse with an inviting pro shop and casual dining options, catering well to groups seeking a full day of golf and relaxation. The staff's reputation for friendly service completes the experience, creating a welcoming environment whether you are visiting for a single round or an extended stay.

For players planning their visit, walking is encouraged but golf carts are available; sturdy shoes are advisable due to sandy or occasionally uneven footing typical of coastal layouts. Morning tee times provide the calmest playing conditions before afternoon sea breezes intensify. This course delivers an authentic Florida coastal round, where the landscape breathes life into every hole and invites golfers to engage both physically and mentally from start to finish.

Course Highlights

Notable for its coastal design incorporating natural salt marshes and Gulf breezes, Lost Key challenges golfers with a diverse set of greens secured by well-placed bunkers and subtle elevation changes. The course’s length and variable wind conditions test shot-making skills, while the friendly staff and clubhouse amenities round out a solid golf outing.

My wife and enjoyed another great trip to Perdido and got to play 3 rounds at Lost Key. The course is in fantastic condition and the greens are amazing as well as huge. As always the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Was able to hunker down with the grounds crew during a quick downpour between hole 2 and 3. Stan and his crew were very welcoming and kind as well. See you soon!

Was a great golf course. The fairways could have been better but the greens were outstanding. When I go to a course the greens are the first thing I rate. A pleasure to play there.

The townhouse we rented was too dirty. The carpet hasn't been washed in years, the blender didn't work, nor did the oven. The beds were too old and dirty. They need to be more careful with the maintenance of the house, or change the houseboard.

Went out there just to practice and I’ve played out here before and the greens are usually in good shape, but when I was out there today a good part of the putting green and a lot of the surrounding areas of the green looked like they were burnt to a crisp, the grass was very brown, I can’t speak for the rest of the course but just from what I saw the grass was begging for water

Pro Shop was friendly. Good design and layout. I was expecting better conditions for 100.00. The course was not in good shape. The greens were nice but the fairways and bunkers were not in good shape. Too much money for the condition of the golf course.

Played golf only , everyone was nice , the course is a good design and has a lot of potential. The condition was very poor , having played 3 other courses in the area this week it was by far the worst condition. The course looks like it is on a shoe string budget just trying stay open . I would think Mr. Palmer would not be happy . ,
