Jay Peak Resort Golf Course

Jay, Vermont, USANorthern Vermont

Jay Peak Resort Golf Course in Vermont presents a challenging 18-hole mountain layout distinguished by elevation changes, striking views, and well-maintained playing conditions. Perfect for golfers who appreciate a strategic, scenic round with a touch of rugged northern wilderness.

Course Overview

Perched amid the rugged terrain of northern Vermont, Jay Peak Resort Golf Course offers an 18-hole public layout that challenges and rewards players with its mountain setting and carefully crafted playing surfaces. This course unfolds across varied elevation changes, where the natural contours of the landscape influence every drive and approach. Its parkland style diverges from the traditional flat fairways, demanding thoughtful shot placement and club selection as golfers navigate rolling hills, strategically placed bunkers, and fast greens.

The standout characteristic of the Jay Peak course is its dramatic scenery. Expansive views stretch over dense forests and distant mountain peaks, with the seventh hole drawing particular notice for its stunning vistas framing a well-protected green. The terrain itself adds a layer of strategic complexity, as elevation shifts alter ball trajectory and wind patterns test your tempo throughout the round.

While the course presents a formidable 153 slope rating from the back tees, it maintains approachable options that suit a wide range of skill levels, making it inviting yet challenging. The layout thoughtfully balances risk and reward, encouraging players to leverage accuracy rather than sheer power. Well-maintained fairways and greens ensure consistent play conditions, reflecting the staff’s commitment to quality.

Amenities complementing the experience include a driving range and practice green that allow for warm-up and fine-tuning shots before teeing off. The clubhouse atmosphere is welcoming, with a golf shop staffed by knowledgeable professionals eager to assist visitors during their stay.

Jay Peak’s location within the larger resort offers more than just golf; after a round, players can enjoy food and drinks at the Clubhouse Grille, which has earned praise for its casual yet satisfying menu. This course is a destination for those seeking a true mountain golf experience that blends natural beauty with a robust test of golfing skill. It invites players to embrace both the challenge and the views, providing a memorable round in Vermont’s northern reaches.

Course Highlights

Jay Peak stands out for its mountainous routing with significant elevation shifts, particularly the 7th hole that offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. The course challenges players with fast greens and bunkers strategically guarding landing zones. Its natural terrain is a core feature, integrating forest-lined holes and open vistas uncommon in many public mountain courses.

First off.... I love this golf course, 5 rounds here and it just gets better every time I make the trip up here... There are some of the most beautiful mountain views of any golf course in VT. Aaron in the golf shop was incredibly welcoming and made us feel like a member. If you find yourself anywhere near Jay Peak during the summer, make it a point to play here! The view into the 7th green is worth the greens fee alone.

Unreal views, very well maintained, friendly staff, beautiful nature, nice little driving range and practice green. $49 after 2 pm for 18 holes and cart, you really can't beat this price for a course of this caliber.
