Course Overview

Tyoga Golf Course in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, offers an engaging 18-hole layout that challenges golfers while rewarding precise play. As a public course, it welcomes players seeking a well-maintained and thoughtfully designed round amid the rolling terrain of northern Pennsylvania. The course’s playability strikes a balance between challenge and enjoyment, making it a strong choice for mid- to low-handicap players who appreciate a course that tests shot shaping and course management without overwhelming newcomers. Strategically placed bunkers and water hazards provide visual intrigue and require heightened focus around the greens. Though the greens play at a moderate speed, they present subtle breaks that reward attentive reading.

Tyoga’s setting reveals clear mountain vistas lending a scenic backdrop that enhances each hole, without distracting from the course’s core test of skill. The fairways are often described as soft yet forgiving underfoot, a feature that can especially appeal to those who enjoy walking. I grew up in Wellsboro and just played Tyoga at the tail end of a road trip that took us on the RTJ trail in Alabama and elsewhere. I hadn’t been there since the 1980’s. The course was beautiful, in great condition, reasonably priced, and not crowded. This place is a hidden gem in a quiet but lovely part of the country. It was the highlight of our trip. I can’t wait to go back.

Played this course on the way back from upstate New York and it was terrific. Lots of elevation changes and the fairways, greens, and tee boxes were in great shape. Course has a lot of character to it and requires precise tee shots. Highly recommend Tyoga CC.

As most people stated, this a great course in great shape. It was a little saturated when we played, but the fairways are so fluffy, you can sleep on them compared to my hometown courses. Course is challenging and has some unique features like slanted fairways on dropping and rising elevations, well place bunkers, water features, and a fantastic mountainous backdrop. Carts are in good shape, course is well marked, and staff is super friendly. Would play here weekly if it was closer. Lots of fun....starting with the first hole.

Had a great day on the course. Price was fair, course was in great shape and the views were amazing. Greens were a little slow but challenging, bunkers were well maintained and course was challenging but fair. Only bummer was the shack was closed so there was no food or drink available at the turn.

Wow is much of all I can say! I just recently got into golf approximately 3 month ago! I have been privileged to play many courses for such a short time, I’ve playing from all over Pennsylvania all the way to Ohio! This course really takes the cake! The pro shop feller was ready for us to arrive and set us up with a cart and we were off to a very memorable 18! Challenging course but played well! I admire the attention and effort y'all put into this course! Only issue we had was it was our first time and there was not a lot of signage for each hole indicating where the pins were! There was a group of four younger fellers in front of us that helped us when we didn’t know where to go next! Thank you Tyoga CC!
