Mountain View Grand Golf Course
Mountain View Grand Golf Course delivers a refined 18-hole layout set amid the sweeping beauty of New Hampshire’s White Mountains. This private course blends strategic play and scenic variety, making it approachable for golfers of all skill levels seeking both challenge and tranquility.
Course Overview
Set against the dramatic backdrop of New Hampshire’s White Mountains, Mountain View Grand Golf Course offers an 18-hole experience that balances challenge with scenic immersion. This private course, located at 101 Mountain View Rd in Whitefield, unfolds along gently rolling terrain where the natural contours invite thoughtful shot-making and strategic play. The layout weaves through an evergreen landscape that shifts from open fairways to tightly contoured greens, demanding precision without overwhelming golfers of varying skill levels.
Designed to cater to a diverse range of players, the course encourages an engaging round whether you’re seeking steady play or testing your short game under pressure. Bunkers are positioned to protect vulnerable pin positions rather than punish errant drives outright, while subtle elevation changes influence club selection and shot shape throughout the round. Seasonal winds can add a quiet complexity, whispering reminders to trust your tempo and course management.
Beyond the fairways, the Mountain View Grand’s clubhouse serves as a historic gathering point, offering a refined yet approachable atmosphere. The combination of the course’s setting and amenities makes it a compelling destination for members looking to blend competition with camaraderie. Walking the course is a preferred way to engage fully with its contours and landscape features; sturdy walking shoes are recommended given gentle uphill stretches and occasional natural underfoot textures.
While the course demands thoughtful golf, it remains accessible enough to reward players seeking to improve their game or find moments of quiet rhythm in the mountains. Its placement just a short drive from the town of Whitefield allows visitors to extend their visit with regional attractions or a stay in one of the nearby inns.
Whether you’re drawn by the challenge or the sweeping mountain views, Mountain View Grand Golf Course offers a measured, engaging round that pairs well with the broader appeal of New England’s golfing landscape.
Course Highlights
The course features a natural mountain setting with a thoughtful routing that incorporates elevation shifts and protective bunkering. Its greens challenge with subtle breaks, while fairways vary from wide-open stretches to tighter, forest-lined holes. The clubhouse retains historic charm and acts as a central hub for players and members. Seasonal winds and scenic vistas of the White Mountains heighten the playing experience.

Stunning facility. We visited early spring so the golf was closed ... but you can see what a pleasure it will be to play in season!

As you can see from my photos, the views are breathtaking. The grounds are immaculately kept and the staff are top notch. Walking through the corridors will take you back a century and you will be amazed at their attention to detail within the main hotel. We were only there for a night but the experience was memorable. Not to mention there is an axe throwing tournament every day! #acutabove Now for the constructive nitpicks... My assumption is that because it is old school central ventilation is going to be a massive overhaul and they might do that in the future but as it stands our room had a stand in AC unit and when I surveyed the outside of others, some had window units. Was not a deal breaker in the least. And because of that, there was a slight smell in the hallway. No one seemed to mind at all. The food wasn't terrible, it just needed some seasoning. It was blah. Now it could just be my palate but it wasn't on par with what the hotel is. All in all it was a very good time and i would recommend this for a weekend getaway or as a wedding venue.

What a great place to get away to. The view is amazing. I took my wife for here for a birthday weekend getaway. She enjoyed all the spa services and food. I recommend making reservations to the wine cellar.

An amazing historic resort nestled in the picturesque white mountains. They have many family activities and it is well located for a trip to Santa's village.

Not the most challenging course, only 9 holes, but you can go around twice to play 18 and hit from different tee boxes to change up the feel of the course. Always a good time
