D'Andrea Golf Club

Sparks, Nevada, USANorthern Nevada

D'Andrea Golf Club offers an 18-hole public course blending natural desert terrain with strategic design. Located in Sparks, Nevada, it provides a diverse challenge amid mountain views, suitable for golfers across all skill levels seeking an engaging desert golf experience.

Course Overview

Located in Sparks, Nevada, D'Andrea Golf Club presents a challenging yet rewarding 18-hole layout carved into the high desert landscape. This public, regulation-length course covers just over 6,600 yards from the back tees and features a par of 72. Its design favors thoughtful shot placement and strategic play, offering golfers a blend of wide fairways, subtle elevation changes, and natural desert features that influence every stroke. The arid surroundings extend beyond the course itself, with mountain vistas framing the horizon, giving each hole a distinctive character that shifts as the sun moves across the sky.

D'Andrea balances playability with nuance, welcoming a broad spectrum of skill levels. Higher handicappers will find forgiving landing zones and approachable greens, while more accomplished players can navigate a demanding layout where accuracy is rewarded. The terrain incorporates well-placed bunkers and native grasses that both challenge and shape your approach shots. Elevation changes are gentle but meaningful, requiring players to adjust club selection and trajectory rather than relying solely on distance.

Practice facilities enhance the experience, highlighted by a full driving range equipped with Toptracer technology, although recent player feedback suggests the technology can be inconsistent. Nonetheless, this range remains a strong asset for warming up or honing your swing. The clubhouse provides an inviting atmosphere with attentive staff who emphasize customer service typical of upscale country clubs, including prompt cart delivery and on-course assistance.

Stepping foot on D'Andrea Golf Club means encountering a course that refuses to feel mundane. The second hole, which climbs into the hills, stands out as a particularly rewarding test where precision and nerve intersect. While some maintenance areas such as tee boxes and bunkers have room for improvement, the course overall maintains playing conditions that keep golfers returning.

For those planning a visit, comfortable walking shoes are advisable, and rental carts are readily available. The course's unique desert setting demands hydration and sun protection, especially during warmer months. D'Andrea delivers an engaging desert golf experience that mixes natural beauty, solid course design, and a courteous playing environment just outside Reno-Sparks.

Course Highlights

D'Andrea features desert landscaping that integrates native grasses and elevation changes that demand thoughtful club selection. The second hole offers a memorable uphill challenge framed by panoramic mountain views. The Toptracer-equipped driving range adds a modern training element, and the clubhouse provides attentive service that enhances the overall golfing experience.

I’m a local and use the facilities weekly. The fact they have not replaced their range balls is borderline criminal. The launch monitors are cool, but for $25/100 balls, the balls should be better. It’s laughable that they still have balls from the D’Andrea range prior to shut down in 2008. Still leaving 5 stars because the course and facilities are great! JUST ORDER NEW BALLS, it’s becoming a running joke in the local golf community.

Arrived 10 minutes late due to traffic and they wouldn’t let us play

Well folks, happy about the courses reopening. It is in good shape and fun. However, the Top Tracer at the driving range rarely works, yet they still charge 20.00 for 70 balls. This is ridiculous and needs to be solved.

Country club service. Brought me a cart to the parking lot to start the day, and then while putting out on 9 someone was already there cleaning my clubs, finally came and got the cart from me at my car. 2nd to none, impressive. Greens have come back so quickly from reopen, now smooth and quick. Rest of the course is also coming back nicely. Glad to have 9 of these holes back. Update 6.29.25 Slipping big time. $20 for 70 balls that barely have dimples on them and the top tracer actually only read about 40% of my shots. Probably won’t be back. Love the course but $50+ for 9 holes at a course that isn’t all the way back is a bit much.

Course conditions and layout is excellent! The only issues was the sand traps, hardly any sand mostly packed dirt in most of the traps.

Super fun course with breathtaking views. This is by no means an easy course either. The 2nd hole is super fun up in the hills. Fairways and tee boxes could use a mowing but they were still green and that’s what’s important. Price wise it doesn’t bother me to much as it’s 3300 yards from gold. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be back.

Enjoyed the course on opening day to the public! Fairway conditions were nice, though the bunkers and tee boxes could use a little bit of work. A little pricey for 9 holes, but it's close to home so we will probably visit another time or two this season. The Toptracer range is also super cool! Beautiful views all around 👍🏻

Not golf related but words can not describe how thankful I am for the staff here! My Bestfriends dog got out & the staff was so helpful in finding him on their property. Without them he wouldn’t be home safe. Thank you!
