Course Overview

Springbrook Golf Course in Boyne Falls, Michigan, offers an 18-hole experience ideally suited for golfers seeking challenge without the pressure of championship-level difficulty. This public course presents a straightforward layout that blends rolling terrain with a quaint, small-town atmosphere. Fairways meander through gentle hills, inviting a variety of shot-making opportunities while avoiding excessive punishment. The course’s design favors an approachable style that welcomes players of all skill levels, from beginners looking to sharpen their fundamentals to more seasoned players aiming for steady round improvement.

Set against the backdrop of northern Michigan's natural beauty, Springbrook’s modest elevation changes create subtle shifts in lie and stance. Trees line select holes but rarely crowd the shots, allowing plenty of room off the tee. Greens are moderate in speed with some subtle undulations that encourage thoughtful putting without frustration. This balance makes Springbrook a practical choice for players who want an enjoyable pace and a course that rewards solid shot placement rather than brute distance.

Amenity-wise, the on-site clubhouse supports a welcoming social scene highlighted by Salty’s bar and grill, where cold drinks and casual fare offer a satisfying conclusion to a round. Competitive prices and the occasional special promotion such as wing night add to the course’s reputation as an accessible and friendly community hub. A small pro shop provides the essentials, ensuring visitors can equip themselves without hassle.

As a course open year-round, weather conditions in northern Michigan can influence play, with late spring through early fall delivering the smoothest surfaces and best conditions. Walkers will find the terrain manageable with comfortable footwear, although golf carts are available. Overall, Springbrook strikes a reliable balance—a course that respects the game while offering a relaxed atmosphere for golfers to enjoy a solid 18-hole outing in a visually pleasant setting.

A good place for food and priced right golf. The course is so so, however, hard to beat the price. The restaurant is a huge improvement over the rundown condition of a couple years ago. Pleasant views from up high in the restaurant area overlooking part of the course and the hills. We ordered burgers and they were great for the price. Reason for 4 stars my wife's burger was way overcooked. Mine was cooked how I liked it (medium to medium rare.) My wife was so hungry after 9 holes she didn't send her burger back. Was hoping the waitress would adjust the bill, however, she didn't. My Mother in law ordered a salad and loved it. I will say the service was excellent. All said and done I do recommend the restaurant and I'm sure we'll be back. Edit on 6-20-20. All the above still applies, however, this time around both my wife's and my burger was cooked well done as opposed to medium rare. Way can't the cook(s) get that right..?

I’m extremely disappointed with the treatment my group and I received during our recent visit to this course. We booked a tee time over a month in advance for a bachelor weekend trip and made the drive from Nashville, TN, looking forward to a great golf experience. Unfortunately, what we encountered was far from welcoming. Upon arrival, we were followed by a staff member from the parking lot all the way to the course. Despite being respectful and cooperative throughout, we were made to feel like we were doing something wrong from the start. Our group had five players — and we fully understand that most courses prefer no more than four. Without any resistance, we followed instructions and split into a group of two and a group of three, as requested. Even after complying, we were continuously followed and monitored at nearly every hole. Eventually, we caught up with the group ahead of us, and with no one behind us for several holes, we decided to play together again to maintain the pace of play. We were not being disruptive, loud, or causing any delays. After teeing off on Hole 7, the same staff member who had been following us approached again, claimed (inaccurately) that she had warned us multiple times, and insisted that one of us return to the clubhouse with her. At that point, we decided it was best to leave the course entirely rather than escalate the situation. While I hesitate to assume intent, it’s difficult to ignore how we — a mostly Hispanic group — were treated in what is clearly a predominantly white, upscale area. The experience felt targeted and discriminatory, and it left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. I would not recommend this course to anyone looking for a fair, inclusive, and respectful golf experience. I sincerely hope the management reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future.

Was a great place to eat. Stroganoff was amazing. Service was a little slow if you don’t sit at the bar but is expected with just one person working bar and floor.

I am so thankful to have a ranger out there on the weekends. It's not fun playing behind a 5some who think it's fine if they are scrambling. It's Not! Thank you for keeping play moving and asking golfers to play by the course rules. Keep up the good work!!

This is a Diamond in the Ruff! Awesome and affordable 18 hole course you must try! We always golf here when in the area at least once. Beer is cold and the food is good. We just happened to hit 75¢ wing night! At Salty's bar & grill in the club house. A great day on the links!

Springbrook Golf Course is exactly what it is meant to be. A fairly well maintained short course that is good for any golfer andat an affordable rate. Great for 18 or a quick 9 after work. Small pro shop with anything you really need. Nice bar and restaurant area with pool table. This is an everyday man's course. One of the last places around Harbor-Petoskey area to play golf early or late in the season and at reasonable rates.

I have never been harassed so much by an employee of a golf course. It’s not my problem you over booked the course. Had a group of 5 that booked over a week in advance. First hole she was already telling us to move faster, split us into 2 groups which was fine. Then we caught a group of 5 and were waiting on every hole. So, all 5 of us trying to keep the pace up would just tee off instead of making everyone behind us wait for 2 separate groups to go. She hawked us every hole, then kicked us out on the 7th hole.
