Course Overview
Located in Beulah, Michigan, Champion Hill Golf Course offers a captivating 18-hole public layout that combines natural beauty with a thoughtfully designed playing experience. The course occupies rolling terrain characteristic of the Benzie County region, delivering a blend of elevation changes and gentle slopes that challenge golfers without overwhelming less experienced players. With lush fairways lined by native trees and well-placed bunkers guarding the greens, Champion Hill encourages strategic shot-making while rewarding precise approach play.
Champion Hill’s design favors accessibility, making it suitable for players of varying skill levels. Beginners will find ample room off the tee and forgiving fairway contours, while more advanced players can test their accuracy with the elevated greens and strategically angled doglegs. The course is maintained with a focus on natural conditions; grasses around the tees and fairways are left slightly longer than traditional manicured courses, inviting a more thoughtful club selection and shot execution.
The scenic vistas from several holes enhance the round, particularly as players navigate through mixes of open stretches and wooded corridors. These changes offer both visual interest and subtle wind challenges that influence how shots are played. Slow-rolling greens demand attentiveness to pace, rewarding patience and touch.
Champion Hill’s welcoming atmosphere is reflected in its staff and facilities that cater to public play and casual rounds. Golf carts are available, though walking is encouraged for those who prefer to engage more directly with the course’s contours. The clubhouse provides a comfortable gathering space for post-round conversations and refreshments.

Was considering a 9 holes at Arcadia Bluffs when I passed through the area coming from the UP to SE Michigan. My partner isn't an experienced golfer, so I scheduled a round here instead. We had a great time and we both bought merchandise at the end. This course was recommended to me through Grok by xAI. Good job, Grok!

Champion Hill is the best course in Benzie County bar none! My wife and I came later in the evening on a Sumday and asked if we could play a quick 9 holes and the friendliest woman you'll ever meet told us no problem! So nice and really felt welcomed. And the course is spectacular and was in fantastic condition for late September. Highly recommend!

I'm not an experienced golfer, so most courses to me are very challenging. But this place is pretty cool. I actually parred three holes! Great views and nice carts. I won't mind going back.

The lady at the counter was nice at check in and at the turn. The course has some of the best views in the state so overall it is a fun track to play. I do want to be honest with the review so all levels of golfers know what they should expect. Overall the course is green everywhere it should be. The tee boxes, fairways and driving range grass are left very long for typical course standards. The greens roll extremely slow but again, they are in nice shape. If you shoot 80 and above and don’t mind the long grass on the fairways/tees and driving range, this course is awesome. If you go low and typically play off of tight lies and quick greens, they aren’t set up that way. This course would benefit from a mixed version of blue and white tees on the card because some holes play a lot shorter then what the card has listed due to sharp turns and elevation. Overall it was a great experience and we enjoyed it.

A group of 12 of us played here and Pinecroft in Aug of 2024, couldn't beat the price for 36 holes of golf. The courses set up differently from each other which is nice to see when playing both in the same day. I lean towards Champion Hill since I shot 75, but enjoyed them both. I look forward to playing them again in the future.

Nice course. Big fairways and not terribly hard greens. Only thing I would like to see is a hole map at each hole.
