Ute Creek Golf Course

Longmont, Colorado, USANorthern Colorado

Ute Creek Golf Course in Longmont, Colorado, combines natural foothill landscapes with an approachable, engaging 18-hole public layout. Featuring well-placed bunkers, fast greens, and a welcoming environment, it offers golfers of all levels a solid test framed by Colorado’s open terrain.

Course Overview

Set against the rugged foothills of northern Colorado, Ute Creek Golf Course offers players a blend of natural challenge and accessible play on a public 18-hole layout. This course presents a layout that balances strategic shot-making with an inviting atmosphere for all skill levels, making it one of the more approachable yet rewarding venues in the Longmont area. Though the overall condition can vary seasonally, the design’s reliance on natural landforms and well-positioned bunkers provides an engaging test for golfers seeking variety beyond simpler parkland settings.

The course terrain flows alongside gentle creeks and rolling prairie grass, offering sightlines to the nearby foothills and open skies. Several holes demand thoughtful navigation around extensive bunkers placed strategically along fairways and near greens, compelling players to weigh risk against reward. Fast, undulating greens punctuate the layout, particularly evident on the mid-round stretch where speed can catch golfers off guard, rewarding precise putting and solid green-reading.

Ute Creek’s public status welcomes a broad audience, including families, beginners, and more experienced players looking to sharpen accuracy. While pace of play can fluctuate depending on weekends and peak times, weekday rounds often proceed smoothly, supported by friendly staff and marshals. Cart rentals are available, although many choose to walk and soak in the natural surroundings, adding an extra layer of engagement with the landscape.

The clubhouse environment is casual and approachable, providing a pro shop with helpful staff ready to assist with everything from equipment to local playing tips. Amenities include practice areas where players can warm up before hitting the first tee. The course’s character lies in its honest layout and natural setting rather than luxury extras.

Whether you're seeking a challenging round framed by Colorado’s open landscapes or a rewarding golf experience that suits a variety of players, Ute Creek Golf Course delivers a solid public course experience that respects the game’s spirit and accessibility.

Tee time prices online don’t match what you pay for in-person. Very deceptive and poor customer service when I explained the rate I see online . I was unable to book online due to just playing as a single

Public course, pace of play was a factor, especially how beautiful it's been these was few weekends. The pro shop was kind and ready to assist upon arrival. We did have to get a new cart since they double booked the cart before we made it to the carts but was not problem, obviously took next in line. We just have to write our names down with cart numbers .the course was beautiful and we had a great time.

The course was a very good challenge due to extensive bunkering on the fairways and around the greens. Everything was enjoyable except I have to deduct a star for slow play. We actually finished in about 4 hours 35 minutes but it was behind a group that was two - three holes behind the group in front of them. Their round must have been about 4 hours 45 minutes. Amazingly we were passed by 5 marshals who never suggested to the group in front to try to keep up. In fact, twice as we were waiting to hit we asked the marshals if they could politely give a nudge and twice we were told the course was full in front when it obviously was not. Why have five marshals rotate during a round just for waving hello and talking about the weather?

I like this course and play it often. Staff is great! Prices like most golf are too high and the golf cart situation everywhere needs to be reexamined. I like having my own cart unless i am playing with family or friends. Should not have to be paired up with strangers. One guy i was paired with had a horrible attitude and bitched the whole time. I was stuck with him for 4 hours. That was garbage and not fair to me.

It is late June 2025 and they just don't seem to care, still. The clubhouse people seem to be trying more, but the effort on the course is not great. They seem to do the bare minimum and nothing else. We played on Tuesday and had cups cut on Sunday, which affected play. Plenty of rain this year and the grass is still too sparse in too many areas. It is too bad since this course has one of the best designs and layouts in northern Colorado. Price is OK for a muni, but it is getting to where it needs to be cheaper if they are not going to try any harder. The staff is fine, but this is, again, the minimum.

Played at 7:40 on May 18 and made it around in 4hr 15min even with 3 of us walking! Pace of play was great and conditions were good. Greens were so FAST which made the round even more interesting. And the staff is always friendly. Highly recommend

Course is in good shape. They are infected with the 'covid' golf. As in, "There are so many people interested in golfing now we don't care." T times on weekends? Sure maybe after 2:00pm. Constant tournaments. The staff is clearly overwhelmed by men's club/tournament play. Don't recommend if you are working and don't have weekdays off.
