Lake Valley Golf Club
Lake Valley Golf Club presents a precise and engaging private golf challenge amid Colorado’s foothill landscape. This 18-hole layout rewards thoughtful play with its strategic design, nuanced greens, and outstanding practice amenities.
Course Overview
Lake Valley Golf Club, located just outside Longmont, Colorado, offers an exceptional private golf experience set within a natural landscape that flows with mountain foothill character rather than imposing elevation extremes. This 18-hole championship course challenges players with its thoughtfully designed layout that balances shot-making opportunities and strategic demands, appealing to low handicappers and ambitious recreational golfers alike. The fairways snake through open prairie and clusters of native grasses, framed by rugged rock formations and water hazards that quietly shape each hole’s identity without overwhelming the player.
The course’s greens stand out for their intricate contours and subtle breaks, requiring precise approach shots and a deft touch on the putter. Golfers will notice how the undulating surfaces test pace control and reading ability, making each visit a fresh puzzle. Playability is enhanced by wide landing areas off the tee on most holes, encouraging an attacking style for longer hitters, while strategic bunkering guards pin positions and demands thoughtful club selection.
Amenities at Lake Valley reflect a commitment to an elevated golfing lifestyle. The practice facilities, including a range with QR code technology providing real-time flag distances, amplify the opportunity for meaningful warm-ups and skill development. The clubhouse atmosphere blends relaxed hospitality with impeccable service, where members and guests find both comfort and camaraderie. The Persimmon restaurant, accessible to the public, offers a refined dining experience with an emphasis on fresh, well-prepared meals—perfect for post-round reflection.
Walking the course is highly recommended. The mostly gentle terrain moves smoothly between holes, and the absence of residential encroachment on over half the round offers a sense of solitude and focus rare in modern private clubs. Golfers should plan for varying winds that can influence shot selection, particularly in the afternoon.
Lake Valley Golf Club represents a private golf environment that values challenge without intimidation, sophistication alongside sincere warmth. It is an ideal destination for players who appreciate a thoughtfully crafted course, dynamic playing conditions, and a vibrant community focused on shared enjoyment of the game.
Course Highlights
The course is defined by its compelling green complexes with subtle contours and strategically placed bunkers that guard landing zones and holes alike. More than half the holes are free from nearby residential structures, offering an uninterrupted connection with the landscape. Practice facilities include an advanced driving range featuring QR code technology for flag distance, one of the most user-friendly setups in private golf. The Persimmon restaurant enhances the experience with high-quality cuisine open to the public, blending refined dining with a relaxed atmosphere.

Well prepared meals using fresh ingredients. Warm friendly and attentive service. Fairly priced. Not a huge menu but I'd prefer less variety but better prepared options. We will be often! 👍👌🎉

Fantastic club with welcoming membership and laid back feels. Staff is amazing and pro shop has great selections. Heavy walking club (course is perfect for it). No homes on 13+ holes. Wonderfully difficult green complexes. This is what private golf in America should look like. Fun, challenging, and most importantly, inviting.

I am not a member, but had a lesson with Cameron Morton today (5/9/2025) and he is excellent. I have been playing golf for decades and have taken numerous lessons at private clubs, GolfTEC, driving ranges, attended golf schools, etc. and today's sessions was truly great. I left hitting the ball better and Cameron recommended a few drills for me to continue to make progress. On top of the range and practice areas are amazing!

Excellent golf course and friendly members! Great food at The Persimmon is open to the public and take out is available! Chef Paul is extraordinary! Enjoyed a delicious clam chowder and coconut shrimp dinner on this winter evening. The Grille is open to the public every day but Monday. I attended a group lesson today and Assistant Pro Rudy taught this old girl 2 new tricks for putting!
