Lake Valley Golf Club

Longmont, Colorado, USANorthern Colorado

Lake Valley Golf Club offers a private mountain-style golf course that balances strategic challenge with playability. Its elevated terrain, expansive practice facilities, and attentive service create a rewarding experience for golfers dedicated to improving their game.

Course Overview

Lake Valley Golf Club provides a refined private golf experience set against the striking backdrop of Colorado’s Front Range. This 18-hole championship course stretches over approximately 7,095 yards of meticulously maintained fairways and challenging greens. The layout leans toward a mountain-style parkland design, weaving through natural terrain with generous elevation changes that demand thoughtful club selection and shot strategy. Players find the course approachable yet engaging, balancing forgiving tee shots with green complexes that test precision on approach and putting alike.

The absence of residential development on over 13 holes allows golfers to be immersed in open spaces framed by towering evergreens and distant peaks, creating a setting that feels at once secluded and expansive. Bunkers guard many of the well-contoured greens, inviting a mixture of aggressive and conservative play. Natural undulations and strategic mounding prompt careful navigation from tee to green, and the varying hole lengths accommodate golfers of differing skill levels.

In addition to the course itself, Lake Valley’s practice facilities stand out as a premier offering. The range features innovative distance markers, including QR codes that allow players to gauge yardages quickly, supporting effective practice routines. The putting and short game areas are equally well maintained, providing an ideal environment for honing all aspects of one’s game.

The clubhouse, home to The Persimmon restaurant, complements a day on the course with quality dining options open to the public, known for thoughtfully prepared meals using fresh ingredients. The club’s staff consistently garners praise for their warm, attentive service, enriching the overall visit.

Walking is encouraged, with a terrain that suits those ready for a steady pace and interested in experiencing the course’s varied topography intimately. Players should come prepared with appropriate footwear to manage the mix of uphill and level stretches comfortably.

Lake Valley Golf Club stands as a compelling destination for private members seeking a challenging yet inviting golf environment, supported by outstanding practice amenities and hospitality.

Well prepared meals using fresh ingredients. Warm friendly and attentive service. Fairly priced. Not a huge menu but I'd prefer less variety but better prepared options. We will be often! 👍👌🎉

I am not a member, but had a lesson with Cameron Morton today (5/9/2025) and he is excellent. I have been playing golf for decades and have taken numerous lessons at private clubs, GolfTEC, driving ranges, attended golf schools, etc. and today's sessions was truly great. I left hitting the ball better and Cameron recommended a few drills for me to continue to make progress. On top of the range and practice areas are amazing!

Fantastic club with welcoming membership and laid back feels. Staff is amazing and pro shop has great selections. Heavy walking club (course is perfect for it). No homes on 13+ holes. Wonderfully difficult green complexes. This is what private golf in America should look like. Fun, challenging, and most importantly, inviting.

Excellent golf course and friendly members! Great food at The Persimmon is open to the public and take out is available! Chef Paul is extraordinary! Enjoyed a delicious clam chowder and coconut shrimp dinner on this winter evening. The Grille is open to the public every day but Monday. I attended a group lesson today and Assistant Pro Rudy taught this old girl 2 new tricks for putting!
