Page, Arizona, USANorthern Arizona

Lake Powell National Golf Course blends desert ruggedness with championship design across 18 challenging holes framed by towering red rocks. Offering a balanced layout suitable for all skill levels, this public course delivers stunning vistas alongside well-maintained fairways and greens that reward thoughtful play.

Course Overview

Lake Powell National Golf Course, located in Page, Arizona, offers an 18-hole desert golf experience that stands apart through its striking natural setting and thoughtful course design. This public championship course stretches over approximately 7,200 yards with a par of 72, inviting players to navigate a layout that balances sweeping desert vistas with strategic shot-making. Red rock formations rise dramatically from the landscape, framing fairways that wind through arid terrain and open desert expanses, punctuated by native vegetation that challenges every approach.

The course’s design takes full advantage of the site’s natural contours, blending elevated tee boxes and undulating greens that reward precision while demanding respect for the desert’s unpredictability. Wind often enters play here, particularly in the afternoon, testing players’ ability to control trajectory and distance. Fairways are wide enough to encourage bold drives yet lined with natural hazards and deep bunkers that protect the greens with quiet authority.

Lake Powell National suits a broad range of skill levels. Early holes provide accessible opportunities to build confidence, making it welcoming to intermediate players, while the back nine gradually ups the challenge, appealing to low handicaps who relish risk-reward decision-making. The fairways and greens are maintained with consistent care, presenting smooth putting surfaces that invite thoughtful putting strokes.

Amenities include a driving range that warms players up with unobstructed views of the course’s signature red rock backdrop and a clubhouse that serves as a welcoming hub, offering food and beverages at reasonable prices. The atmosphere throughout is friendly and inviting, supporting both casual rounds and more competitive play.

For golfers planning a visit, walking the course is encouraged to fully absorb the environment, but carts are also available to ease navigation across this expansive desert layout. Timing a round for early morning can provide cooler temperatures and softer winds, enhancing playability. Lake Powell National delivers a memorable desert golf challenge framed by some of Arizona’s most iconic scenery, where every hole presents a unique test in harmony with the landscape’s raw beauty.

Course Highlights

The course is distinguished by its dramatic red rock formations visible from nearly every hole, creating a visual backdrop rare in desert golf. Signature holes include the par-5 7th, which bends around towering cliffs, and the challenging back nine where wind and elevation changes demand precise strategy. The well-maintained greens offer subtle breaks that enhance the putting challenge without overwhelming players.

Awesome course, friendly staff. Driving range, clubhouse, only $20 to replay all 18, same visit. Front 9 easier than the back 9, back nine is a lot of fun though.

Absolutely blown away by Lake Powell National Golf Course! From the very first tee to the final putt, every shot was framed by the most stunning views I've seen on a course. Nestled in the red rock canyons with distant lake vistas, it's hard to focus on your swing when the scenery steals your breath away. The greens were in excellent condition, rolling smooth and true, and the fairways were well maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a serious golfer or just out for the views, this course delivers on both fronts. I highly recommend stopping here if you're anywhere near Page, AZ. This is desert golf at its finest. ⛳🏜️
