Stone Meadows Golf Course

White Haven, Pennsylvania, USANortheastern Pennsylvania

Stone Meadows Golf Course delivers approachable 18-hole play with a welcoming layout that suits beginners and intermediate golfers alike. Featuring wide fairways and a mix of shorter and more demanding holes, this public course offers relaxed, affordable golf in a peaceful Pennsylvania setting.

Course Overview

Stone Meadows Golf Course in White Haven, Pennsylvania, offers an approachable yet engaging experience for golfers seeking value without compromising on playability. This public 18-hole layout stretches across a modest terrain that balances easy navigability with pockets of subtle challenge, particularly on the back nine where length and more complex green surfaces demand a thoughtful club selection and steady putting. The course plays shorter compared to many championship venues, making it well suited for beginners and mid-handicap players looking to build confidence, while still offering enough nuance to hold the interest of more seasoned golfers.

From the tee boxes, fairways unfold with generous width, inviting a comfortable start that rewards accuracy over power. The front nine oftentimes feels like a collection of restructured par-3 and short holes, easing players into the round with manageable distances and greens that test touch and control rather than brute force. Transitioning to the back nine, Stone Meadows reveals more variety in hole lengths and subtle contouring that encourages strategic decision-making amidst gently rolling scenery.

The course setting is simple and clean, framed by native vegetation and open sky, providing a peaceful atmosphere that many players praise for its relaxing pace and lack of overcrowding. Notably, mosquito control is surprisingly effective, a quality that significantly improves comfort and allows focus to remain on the game.

Although some turf areas and bunkers show signs of wear, Stone Meadows remains a solid option for those seeking affordable golf with a friendly environment. Its no-frills pro shop and minimal amenities ensure the focus stays on the course itself, while the courteous staff add to a laid-back vibe suitable for family outings or casual rounds with friends.

Walking is encouraged, with generally flat terrain and well-maintained paths, though players should prepare for occasional uneven ground and bring appropriate footwear for variable conditions. Early mornings or late afternoons present the best times to enjoy this quietly inviting Pennsylvania track, where the true appeal is in its straightforward charm and accessible challenge.

Course Highlights

Stone Meadows is distinguished by its accessible layout where wide fairways ease the pressure off the tee, while the back nine’s longer holes and subtly contoured greens introduce strategic variety. The course benefits from effective mosquito control, creating a rare comfort in this region that enhances the playing experience. Though some maintenance challenges are visible, the course maintains a friendly pace and a relaxed atmosphere that appeals to a broad range of golfers.

Played this course the other day and let me tell you it’s in rough shape, fairways are like a rough on 75% of the course with very overgrown and dead patches everywhere. The bunkers look like the sand is 2 years old and it’s not even weed whacked so they’re overgrown and dead. Greens are hit or miss, some were really nice and fast and others were slow with massive dead patches. However the course had a great rate, nice staff, and is a pretty course outside of that. Back 9 is definitely more player friendly and more fun but front 9 is very rough. Overall I would definitely play the back 9 on this course for short rounds but don’t think I’ll play 18 again.

It's 4:45 pm on a Saturday afternoon, sun is out perfect weather. Pull in to play 9 holes (4) people and the guy washing the carts said "I'm not staying 4 hours for you guys. Last golfers just left, call me next time" Google says they close at 7:15pm. Awful experience

This course isn’t bad. It has it flaws but for what it is I applaud certain features. I payed 11.25 for an 18 hole round. I got my round for 66% off with a coupon. It is a very easy course with wide fairways and short yardages. The front 9 feels like a restructured par 3 course with slightly more challenging greens. The back 9 is significantly longer. It has some challenges that made for a good round. One major positive I will especially note is the mosquito control is amazing here. Still bees and dragonfly’s but no pesty bugs. I wish the pro shop had more merchandise and drinks. Overall a great value round.

Course is a blast. Perfect place to go out with the boys and chase some balls around. Can’t beat the price, challenging little design too. She’s trickier than she seems on the scorecard.
