Stillwater Golf and Country Club

St Johns, Florida, USANortheast Florida

Stillwater Golf and Country Club challenges players with an 18-hole layout that merges open, breezy conditions and firm, fast greens. Its modern design paired with distinctive stacked sod bunkers offers a fresh golf experience in St Johns, Florida, suitable for both novices and seasoned players.

Course Overview

Stillwater Golf and Country Club offers a compelling blend of modern design and classic golf elements across its 18-hole, par-72 layout. Located in the vibrant St. Johns area of Florida, this public facility presents a fresh golfing destination for players seeking a challenging yet accessible round in a setting that feels both expansive and thoughtfully sculpted.

The course opens with inviting fairways that gradually introduce players to a varied experience, where strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens demand precision and thoughtful club selection. While the landscape embraces the subtropical climate, it avoids excessive water hazards, instead emphasizing well-maintained turf and firm surfaces that reward shot-making creativity. The greens are notably smooth with subtle breaks, offering a genuine test of putting without overwhelming less experienced players.

Stillwater’s open design invites the breeze to influence shots, evoking a subtle links-style vibe uncommon in Florida but welcomed by golfers looking for a nuanced challenge. The bunkers stand out with their stacked sod faces, a visually striking feature that adds both character and strategic complexity. These bunkers act as natural guardians around several greens, encouraging thoughtful route planning off the tee.

The club’s amenities enhance the overall experience: a fully equipped practice facility includes a Toptracer range, encouraging players to hone their skills with the latest technology. The clubhouse staff consistently receives praise for their friendly professionalism, ensuring that every visit—from booking to the final putt—runs smoothly. Players also appreciate the relaxed atmosphere, which balances serious golf with a welcoming environment.

Playability at Stillwater caters to a broad spectrum of golfers. Beginners will find fairways generous and the pace of play steady, while low handicappers will enjoy the challenge presented by contouring and wind conditions. For those planning a visit, arriving later in the day can offer quieter mornings with fewer groups on course, allowing for a more peaceful pace.

Situated just off Stillwater Boulevard, the course offers easy access for locals and visitors alike. Walking the course is encouraged, with firm turf and a generally gentle terrain making it a viable option for those looking to engage fully with the course’s layout and natural elements. Stillwater Golf and Country Club stands out as a contemporary, approachable option in Northeast Florida’s growing golf landscape.

Course Highlights

The course’s signature stacked sod bunkers add a distinctive visual and strategic element rarely seen in Florida. Really enjoyed my round of golf today! Golf course is very playable, yet challenging. Staff was excellent & treated me very nicely. Steven was doing it all, Kayla provided excellent customer service, & Mia made a great cocktail! A+ practice facilities, as well as Toptracer Range. Can’t wait to see what this place looks like when the construction is finished. Thank you Stillwater!

Wanna play golf in Florida but feel like you're in Scotland? Pick a windy, cloudy day and make your way over here. For $60, there is not another course that even comes close to this value. Full practice area and range balls included in the tee time. And this course doesn't have a single flaw. (it was built 2 years ago) The stacked sod bunkers are perfect. Greens are firm but that is expected out of a brand new course. Hope this place stays public for a long time. Thanks for a great time.

To the Golf Professional at Stillwater, Yesterday while playing at your club/course I experienced what most golfers dream of doing and that is snagging a hole in one. While playing the 17th hole from the Blue T box, I achieved only up until that point what I had witnessed while playing with other folks. Playing a fade back into the slight breeze from 174 yds, I witnessed the ball hit and roll but only thinking it may have went in, but with the undulated green it was hard to judge. On approach to the green we only saw two balls figuring I rolled off the back but alas down in the cup she was. My main purpose of writing though is the way your shop staff handled it when I reported in. The three of them were the best!!!! They made sure I was happy and enjoying the moment taking photos of my group etc. You should be very happy you have such a great staff. I play your course a least once a year when I winter here from a little city north of Syracuse, NY. The course and now facilities have emerged from development into a mature beautiful course with great facilities. I will forever remember Stillwater and the staff that made this truly a memorable day. I understood it was also the first hole in one since moving into your new shop so a win win for everyone!

Nice and relaxing. An amazing places to get away and relax. I would recommend this place to all my friends. While you're there you can enjoy a nice drink or snack. I would much rather go here than top golf as an adult. You still get all the fun technology but without all the other distractions. Just be sure to bring plenty of Tees as you will definitely break enough while there. If want a nice time to go is arrive around 7ish. Most of the old people that live there are gone by then
