Windsor Parke Golf Club

Jacksonville, Florida, USANortheast Florida

Windsor Parke Golf Club offers a straightforward 18-hole parkland course within Jacksonville’s northern reach. Focused on accessibility and affordability, it caters to beginners and casual golfers seeking a relaxed round amid wide fairways and simple layouts.

Course Overview

Windsor Parke Golf Club presents an 18-hole layout designed to accommodate golfers seeking an approachable round in Jacksonville’s northern corridor. This public course stretches across a blend of gently rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways typical of a parkland style, inviting players of varying skill levels to navigate a course that emphasizes straightforward shot-making over complexity. While the course setting is modest, its accessibility and pricing make it a viable option for local golfers and beginners eager to sharpen their skills without straying far from the city.

The course’s character is marked by wide fairways that offer generous driving corridors, though the conditioning has been a challenge in recent seasons. Fairways show signs of firmness, and greens have tended towards a patchwork of recovery areas and inconsistent surfaces, which can add unpredictability to putting. This requires a steady short game and patience, adapting to slower or uneven green speeds. The overall layout avoids severe elevation changes or forced carries, promoting walkability and a pace of play fit for those less inclined to advanced strategy.

Windsor Parke features a practical approach to amenities, including a driving range maintained in good condition and a pro shop staffed with friendly personnel prepared to welcome newcomers. While the course is not demanding, it offers an affordable golf experience that serves as a gateway for beginners, casual players, and those looking to maintain their game.

Visitors planning a trip to Windsor Parke should prepare for firm conditions and anticipate that greens may be somewhat uneven, recommending soft spikes or spikeless footwear for both comfort and stability. While pace of play can occasionally slow due to course activity, early tee times often bring a more streamlined round. Given the course’s public status and ease of access, it remains an option for affordable golf within Jacksonville, particularly for those prioritizing convenience over championship-level challenge.

In essence, Windsor Parke Golf Club provides a no-frills, approachable environment where golfers may work on fundamental skills amid familiar Florida landscapes, making it suitable for newcomers and those seeking a budget-friendly round.

Course Highlights

The course is characterized by broad, forgiving fairways and a relatively flat layout typical of parkland-style designs, making shot placement intuitive for players still developing their game. The driving range remains in good condition and serves as a reliable practice facility. While greens face maintenance challenges, several holes provide pleasant visuals with mature trees framing the fairways and occasional water features adding subtle interest to scoring strategy.

Starter a joke- guy thought we were a hour later (play in 15 min) and then didn’t match two twosome’s ahead of us , so pace of play very slow first 3-4 holes. We were a 4. The course was poor shape with hard fairways and greens /skirts terrible shape- very hard and some greens plastered with fertilizer. No evidence of watering. Patched greens bumpy and barely had grass. A good beginner course close to the city- except for the conditions, not very challenging. Good thing it was cheap for 18 plus cart.

Driving range was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. The course, however, needs some work. I can see they are trying to fix it but it was definitely a rough play through. I would say the greens are in terrible shape and need time to fix. I'd still play here again but maybe wait a few months.

$87 for Windsor Parke is highway robbery. The greens are all in such horrible shape and it doesn’t seem like they are trying to fix them. Play somewhere else if you can. I play all the time and can guarantee this was my last round there. Two thumbs down.

Probably the worst course I have ever played. Virtually every green was unplayable with only 1 or 2 exceptions (which resulted in most every pin being 3-4 feet from the fringe), there wasn’t a single tee box that was level, and there was ground under repair everywhere across the course. The staff was either completely apathetic or combative. And it took us almost 5 hours to play because no one could be bothered to keep anyone moving. Atrocious experience. It would be better off bulldozed. Don’t waste your time or money.

Not expensive golf round, $49 per person including the cart. Make your tee time online! The greens aren’t in the best conditions but ok.

Absolutely the worst shape I’ve ever seen a golf course. Every Green look like someone blew a bomb off on it. They should be embarrassed to charge what they charge. By the way after 12 holes we had played for four hours with no Marshall and walked off the course.

Just shut this place down already. This is a $20 course and they should be ashamed of themselves for letting this course be so bad and charging same rates as decent courses
