This municipal facility presents a straightforward, playable design marked by gently rolling fairways and approachable greens that create a laid-back atmosphere for beginners and higher-handicap golfers. The course’s modest length invites a relaxed pace of play, with holes that demand thoughtful shot placement rather than sheer distance, making it an excellent choice for those aiming to sharpen accuracy and course management.

Brentwood’s landscape is modest yet pleasant, featuring patches of shade from mature trees and well-defined bunkers positioned to subtly test your strategic choices. If you’re in the Jacksonville, Florida, area and you’re not seeking a course with perfectly manicured grass and an immaculate appearance, this is definitely the spot for you. The driving range is solid, and there’s also a two-hole practice area that, based on other reviews, is worth checking out. I saw a player chipping toward a flag; clearly, they were familiar with the course, and I chose not to interrupt their practice and didn't ask any staff member about the area either. The chipping area is well-used, and the putting green is quite decent. The course offers a nice layout that’s enjoyable to play, but if you’re after pristine greens and fairways akin to Pebble Beach, this isn’t the place for you. This 9-hole course is perfect for below-average players or anyone with a handicap of 10 or higher. This is just my opinion. I saw people there who looked like they were on a college or university team. Avoid playing between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. if you cannot handle the heat. Pricing is reasonable: small range balls are $12, large range balls are $17, and walking 9 holes is $17.20. I haven’t tackled 18 holes yet, but that would mean playing the course twice. Play can get slow at times. If you’re looking for a place to play and improve your game or want to say you played a round in Florida, this is absolutely the place for you. Let me not forget the staff... They are easygoing, friendly brothers and sisters. 😉

I had not played Brentwood in about two years and I don’t exactly remember the course condition but let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised last week. It’s a small municipal course but the greens are in excellent shape! I have played many different courses this season throughout Jax and the greens here are better than most. It’s still a small short course, but it’s super fun. Shoutout to the staff, great work. You cannot beat it for the price. I go paired of with a cool fell named John as well, if you see this it was a pleasure playing together!

A very beautiful and senic course! It's only 9 holes but several will challenge you. The clubhouse staff was very nice. I wish they had cart girl to come around with drinks but they do have cold drinks for sale in the clubhouse. I definitely look forward to visiting and playing here again soon!

I love seeing more people coming here to walk on the weekend. Plus with all the rain there's been some very nice changes to the course and the overall view! Guys great job! The course has come a long way from what it used to be several years ago. The greens are significantly better. For 10 bucks to walk 9 holes you really can't beat that. Beautiful scenery, quiet location, and a calm walk while playing the game you love. Definitely will be coming over more often after work when the wife lets me. I recommend to fix the tee boxes with labels when you guys get an opportunity is my only negative/constructive criticism

Love the convenience of the course. The guy in the clubhouse has been rude all 4 times we have come. EVERYTIME IT'S A DIFFERENT PRICE! We always come on a weekday at 10am. Last time we had 2 "cart" charges for 1 cart. When I asked about it he said "DO YOU WANNA WALK? NO? OKAY THEN. Not professional whatsoever! Someone else should be talking to the customers and prices should be listed and clear. Not a very good grumpy old man to be running the clubhouse.
