Blue Sky Golf Club

Jacksonville, Florida, USANortheast Florida

Blue Sky Golf Club in Jacksonville blends a parkland-style 18-hole course with a social-driven atmosphere centered around its lively restaurant and Toptracer driving range. Ideal for golfers seeking fun, accessible play accompanied by modern amenities, it offers a unique take on affordable golf in Northeast Florida.

Course Overview

Blue Sky Golf Club in Jacksonville, Florida, offers an unconventional golf experience that emphasizes social engagement alongside play. This 18-hole public course unfolds on a gently rolling layout where green expanses give way to pockets of challenge. The course’s style blends traditional parkland elements with subtle modern touches, set against a backdrop of live oaks and open skies that contribute to a relaxed atmosphere.

The facility’s main hub is not a pro shop, but rather a lively restaurant that acts as the social center, drawing both golfers and visitors. This shift in focus creates a club environment that feels accessible without sacrificing quality of experience. For players, the combination of reasonable rates and an inviting setting makes Blue Sky a practical choice for those seeking fun rounds without the pressure of intense competition.

While the fairways generally hold up well, recent conditions of the putting surfaces have drawn mixed reviews. The greens, affected by seasonal stress and maintenance challenges, may demand patience and adaptability. These elements add an unpredictable dimension to the round, making it especially engaging for golfers who enjoy compensating for less-than-perfect surfaces.

Blue Sky’s Toptracer-equipped driving range offers a modern practice facility, encouraging players to work on swing metrics or simply enjoy the technology’s interactive features. For those planning a visit, footwear suited for walking on softly undulating terrain is recommended, as carts are available though walking remains an option for fit golfers wanting a full sensory connection with the land.

The course is approachable for a broad spectrum of skill levels. Its design rewards strategic thinking rather than sheer power, and while not a championship-level test, it remains a satisfying setting for casual players and those refining their games. Golfers looking for a vibrant community atmosphere paired with affordable play will find Blue Sky distinctive among Jacksonville’s offerings.

In all, Blue Sky Golf Club presents an experience where laid-back social vibrancy meets the game’s fundamentals. While conditions fluctuate, honest gameplay and an inviting environment make it a destination worth consideration, particularly for those wanting to combine quality time with fellow players and accessible golf challenges.

Course Highlights

Blue Sky offers a parkland-style layout punctuated by mature live oaks and expansive fairways. The integration of a Toptracer driving range provides a high-tech practice environment uncommon for courses in this price range. The course’s main social center is its bustling restaurant, which creates a vibrant gathering spot behind the 18 holes. While the greens have faced maintenance challenges, the course layout emphasizes strategic shot-making over brute force.

Just visited Blue Sky Golf Club and had a surprisingly fun experience. There’s something really cool and different about this place. First off, no pro shop, just a buzzing restaurant that clearly acts as the hub. I’ve been twice now, and both times it’s been packed with people. Great atmosphere. Add in the Toptracer driving range, and you’ve got a unique, laid-back golf environment that feels more social than traditional. Rates are super affordable. Also, you can tell the club has been through some rough patches lately, especially with the course conditions. I started on the 10th, and the first three holes were pretty rough. But then it gets a lot better. There are some really solid holes out there, and a few are in great shape, as you can see from the photos I took today (June 23, 2025). I played Dye’s Valley at TPC Sawgrass last Friday. Sure, the greens and fairways were perfect, but the price is also 10x. So if you’re looking for that level of quality, this ain’t it. But if you’re looking for something fun, affordable, and welcoming, Blue Sky delivers. And I respect that. The team is transparent about where things are today, and it really seems like they’re putting in the work to improve. This place has real potential.

By far the worst course I’ve ever laid eyes on. Fairways were a ok but greens were terrible. The staff was great but unfortunately, the only way to fix this course is to shut it down and do some true work to it. Advice to the course management team, get rid of whoever is taking care of your course unless you want to keep getting terrible reviews like this. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Paid $97 dollars for 18 holes and a bucket of range balls. Greens were impossible to play on. Literally the worst I’ve ever seen and I’ve been golfing for 10 years. If it’s your first time have at it but if your someone who actually cares about your HCP and how you play do NOT play here. Worst experience I’ve ever had. Course has such good potential and the fairways were pretty decent but 18/18 greens were chunks of grass and the rest was sand spray painted green.

Little expensive for buckets, but comfortable. Didn't play today.

Fairways are ok, tee box is fair, greens are TERRIBLE!! I have attached pictures, after hole one the group agreed to a 2 putt max like you do on temporary greens. I asked the card guy if he knew and the answer was yes, he said the freeze from winter got to the greens, if that is the case why are the 5 other local course in that condition. When I made the tee time they should have said something so I would not waist my time on a FRUSTRATING round!!! Will not be back this year until greens are FIXED

We play here a lot due to the price, which is fine. But several times we have played the sprinklers just come on during play. Greens need work, course needs a month of no play to repair.

Used to be a very decent golf course. Nice fairways and decent greens. Not anymore lately.
