Course Overview

Pine Hills Golf Course offers a straightforward, welcoming golf experience in Mountain View, Arkansas. This 9-hole public course caters to a variety of skill levels, making it an approachable option for beginners and casual players alike. Its layout is uncomplicated yet engaging, with wide fairways that provide plenty of room to shape shots without penalty. The course’s modest length encourages strategic play rather than brute force, placing a quiet emphasis on accuracy and course management over raw distance.

The setting is rural and unpretentious, with largely open terrain punctuated by mature trees that frame a handful of holes. These natural features add subtle challenges, especially when the wind shifts direction, testing the player’s ability to adjust shot trajectory and club selection. While the greens show signs of wear and can be somewhat patchy, they require close attention to speed and line, rewarding accurate putting with valuable strokes saved. Fairways are generally forgiving, but some rough areas can be thick and demanding, making errant shots more consequential.

Pine Hills functions as a budget-friendly golfing option in this part of Arkansas, which suits those learning the game or players seeking a laid-back round without the formality of a private club. The staff is known for being polite and supportive, welcoming newcomers and fostering a relaxed atmosphere. The clubhouse is modest but functional, with amenities that meet basic needs. It’s important to bring cash, as electronic payments are not accepted.

Walking the course is encouraged, with paths mostly level and turf firm enough for sturdy shoes. The lack of cart paths and the compact nine-hole design make for an easy pace of play, allowing golfers to focus on their swing rhythm and course strategy.

For those who enjoy manageable challenges, Pine Hills offers an honest course that balances playability with opportunities to improve all facets of the game. It’s a practical choice for local players or visitors passing through Mountain View, particularly if you value a friendly environment over pristine conditions.

Not an elegantly manicured country club course by any stretch, but a fun, challenging course for my wife and I who are both very new to the sport. Staff was helpful and polite. Be sure to bring cash as they do not take cards. Greens are pretty rough so be prepared!

Come here often because it’s the closest course around. definitely the cheapest course and it’s for a good reason. greens are worse than my backyard, fairways are alright, and the rough is rough. clubhouse staff is either the most friendly man in the world and the other complains about everything.

This is a very playable short course. The tee boxes need upkeep and the greens are a bit rough. The course fairways are straight, wide and fairly forgiving. The course has a few challenges that make it interesting and fun. I enjoyed my game and will return. It is a great place to work on your game.
