Briarmeade Golf Club

Glencoe, Alabama, USANortheast Alabama

Briarmeade Golf Club presents an accessible 18-hole links-style test in Glencoe, Alabama, with improved conditions and thoughtfully placed hazards. Its open, wind-swept fairways and strategic bunkers challenge players of all levels within a relaxed, walkable setting.

Course Overview

Briarmeade Golf Club, located in Glencoe, Alabama, offers an engaging 18-hole layout that challenges golfers while providing a relaxed and scenic atmosphere. This public-access course leans into a links-style design, with open fairways and gentle undulations that encourage strategic shot-making. Stretching just over 6,700 yards with a par of 72, Briarmeade balances playability for mid-to-high handicappers and a stimulating test for more advanced players who seek to fine-tune their approach and short game.

The course’s conditioning has steadily improved in recent years, particularly on fairways and greens, which are now consistently smooth and responsive. While some tee boxes show signs of wear, the overall turf quality supports a confident swing and clean strike. Bunkers are well-positioned, often guarding the green with subtle contours that reward precision over power. Several holes open up vistas of the gently rolling terrain, with natural grasses framing the fairways rather than dense woods, allowing wind to influence ball flight and club selection.

Players will find Briarmeade both inviting and refreshing, with enough complexity to hold the interest over multiple rounds. The course layout encourages a thoughtful, varied approach—approach shots demand careful distance control, and putting surfaces respond with a welcome firmness that challenges pace judgment.

Amenities include a welcoming clubhouse and a pro shop staffed by knowledgeable personnel who understand the needs of visitors and locals alike. While carts are available, the course’s walk-friendly topography makes it accessible for those wanting to enjoy a more traditional outing on foot, though sturdy footwear is recommended given some uneven ground.

Briarmeade Golf Club’s mix of strategic design and approachable setting makes it a valued destination for golfers in northeastern Alabama. Whether visiting for a casual round or a low-key competitive outing, the course’s evolving quality and natural charm create an inviting environment to refine your game.

I have asked them to stop calling me. I've asked every person that's called and I've called the manager asking to have the owner call me. It's once a month im called and asked to advertise on this golf course. I suppose they are hurting for money. Stop calling me!!!!!!! It's harassment at this point.

Very nice course. There are a few greens on the back nine that need a good bit of work, but overall the course is in really good shape. We had a 30-45 minute soaking rain in the middle of our round and by the time we were on the last 3 holes you could barely tell. Will definitely go back. 2 o'clock tee time gave us "twilight" rates of $29 with a cart. Good value for a better than average course.

The staff is amazing here, very friendly and accommodating. The course was a bit rough a few years ago, but they have really put a lot of work into it and this is now one of my favorite courses to play. Tee boxes are a bit hard and uneven Fairways are maintained well and are rarely bare The Rough can be a bit inconsistent at times, but never problematic Greens have been very nice lately, a bit firm Haven't really hit out of the sand, but looks nice The layout is very nice for a links course, every hole is unique and beautiful
