Stone Ridge Golf Course

Prescott Valley, Arizona, USANorth Central Arizona

Stone Ridge Golf Course offers an engaging 18-hole experience set among the rugged elevations of Prescott Valley’s high desert. With strategic blind shots and shifting winds, it provides a precise, rewarding challenge framed by striking southwestern views.

Course Overview

Stone Ridge Golf Course in Prescott Valley, Arizona, offers an immersive 18-hole challenge set amid the rugged contours of the Arizona high desert. This public course demands thoughtful strategy and precise shot-making, carved into an undulating landscape that tests every club in the bag. Elevation changes dominate the layout, with blind tee shots and tiered greens placed strategically to challenge golfers across all skill levels. Players who choose their tee boxes carefully will find a rewarding test of golf, while those less familiar with target golf should prepare for a course that asks for accuracy over brute distance.

The scenery is a vivid gallery of desert flora, rocky outcroppings, and expansive views that stretch to distant mountain ranges. As the sun moves across the sky, shadows shift across fairways that wind their way through this terrain, compelling golfers to adjust their approach and club selection constantly. Wind can be a subtle but steady opponent, influencing trajectory and tempo on many holes.

Stone Ridge’s conditioning is commendable, with well-maintained fairways, manicured greens, and bunkers that add both challenge and visual contrast. Practice facilities include a driving range, putting green, and chipping area, all designed to prepare players for the precision required across the course. The overall layout leans toward golfers who enjoy a blend of rugged natural beauty and a strategic test rather than straightforward power hitting.

Visitors will note a quiet, private feel despite its public access, with staff offering helpful guidance including a detailed course booklet highlighting yardages and hole descriptions to navigate the blind shots and elevation changes. Walking the course is encouraged, allowing players to fully engage with the terrain and take in the sweeping views around each bend.

Stone Ridge is a must-play destination for those traveling through Prescott Valley who appreciate courses that reward accuracy and patience. While challenging, it remains approachable for committed golfers seeking to sharpen their game amid compelling southwestern scenery.

Course Highlights

The course’s defining elements include significant elevation shifts that frame blind tee shots and demand precise club selection. Five star course located in Prescott Valley. Staff very friendly and accomdating. Everyone from proshop to outside services to ranger kept stating choose your box wisely as there were alot of blind tee shots and major elevation changes, making a first time playing a little difficult to navigate. They did give us a free course booklet in the proshop with yardage and hole-by-hole details, which greatly improved an understanding on many holes. Had a great time and experience! We were in the area for a weekend golf tournament at another course and decided to check this course out. We will definitely make this a stop every year now, as it was in great condition and challenging! Pace of play was good, we were one of the first groups off in the morning. When we made the turn, we saw most of the play on this course begins midday. Driving range, practice putting and chipping areas well kept. Had a private feel to the course. Must bring your A game as most shots were target golf, from tee box to fairway to green. Superb job Stone Ridge!!!

What a treat this one of a kind gem was to play. Not for the faint hearted, but if you hit it straight you will be rewarded. Beautiful views everywhere, I feel like we had a jeep tour included with the course design that takes you thru some amazing sights as you wind your way around the mountain.. Being from the NW it was awesome to get to a place with this type of design, Greens were challenging and true. Obvious care goes into maintaining the gorgeous fairways and bunkers. See you next year !!!

First time playing Stoneridge in Prescott Valley. I enjoyed the course alot. It's a but difficult if you're not finding fairways but that's gold in a nutshell. Course was in good shape, cart oath only due to recent storms. I do feel they were over cautious as it could have been driven on with the exception of a few spots. Thus to me is laziness on the course management perspective and judging by the lack of marshaling they really don't care. Many were driving on the course. We however, did not. My 8,000 steps would agree. I loved the layout, the views, the greens and other than the silly 18th, a great course to play. BTW, it says to aim at the pole off the teecat 18, but their ain't no pole 🤷.. the ProShop employee was a bit grumpy, the player service employee was awesome. All in all I loved the round, would definitely return.

Stunning scenery, pick the correct tee box as it's definitely a challenge, especially so if there's some wind. Great course to test all parts of your game! Bucket list type of course you really should play at least once. Had a great time!

I am not a very good golfer. I have a high handicap. I am endlessly frustrated. That said, I thoroughly enjoy this course. The cart path ride is worth the greenfield alone. I find it hilly, beautiful and loads of fun. It has always been well kept and has many blind approaches. Be prepared to lose balls. I've heard that experienced players can find it easy. For schlubs like me, the scenery and the challenge make playing here great fun.
