Course layout is very fun! Definitely some good challenges! Only reason for the 4 stars were some of the greens were in rough shape! But would definitely come back

Off the bat, this is a terrific golf course with a super friendly and attentive staff! I really commend these folks. Everyone from the guys that get your clubs situated at the bag drop, the pro shop staff, bar/snack staff, the starter (who was really knowledgeable about the course, conditions, etc)...everyone. Really made it a great experience. I have read some semi recent reviews about the condition of the course and I can honestly say that the folks at Long Bay have been diligent to rectify any of the issues I've read about. Kudos to them! The course was in great shape. Mr. Nicklaus is a crafty devil...with his beautifully (and tempting) placed sand throughout. However, this has been a course I have always wanted to play. It did not disappoint. So much so, we decided to play it two days in a row. Thank you, Long Bay! Will be back!

Played this course again for first time in 30 yrs in March, that is why you see Brown rough. one of my favorite courses in Myrtle. if you don't like sand shots you will not like this course. there is strategic sand traps everywhere. Jack did a great job designing this course and it's pretty forgiving. Only negative is some greens had some bare spots but didnt effect overall game. I would definitely play again. Overall our favorite course of the 3 we played this year.

Simply put - awful. Conditions way below par. Greens were the worst I've seen in a while, slow, bumpy, patchy with several damaged areas. Disgraceful to charge 80+ for an afternoon round (which took 5hrs due to lack of pace enforcement). Hope they turn it around, since it's one of the best layouts in the area.

Played here on Friday July 11. I played this course back in April and it was a mess, Greens were diseased and corroded, fairways looked like the rough, tee boxes were nothing but giant bare spots. Also at that time there was some Junior Girls tournament being held the next day, so they were there with a parent/family getting practice and some young girls were accompanied by coaches and groups as large as 8-10 people all playing a hole....felt like this was something paying customers should have been warned about before playing. I swore i'd never play here again, but i know some residents of Long Bay and they told me the course was in much better shape and it had been getting the TLC a golf course needs. I'm happy to report Long Bay is in much better condition than it was a few months ago. Greens aren't perfect, but worlds better than they were before. There was a good rainstorm the night before i played, so some parts of the fairways/rough/bunkers were muddy and/or soft, but that's to be expected. You could actually tell the fairway apart from the rough. Tee boxes were in much better condition as well. Long Bay is a well-designed course, so it's nice to see some attention being paid in keeping it healthy.
