Yellowstone Club

Big Sky, Montana, USAMountain West

Yellowstone Club offers an exclusive, mountain-style 18-hole golf experience in Big Sky, Montana. The course blends natural terrain with strategic routing, creating a challenging yet rewarding environment framed by stunning alpine vistas.

Course Overview

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Big Sky, Montana, Yellowstone Club presents an exclusive experience combining alpine elevation with premier golf design. This private, 18-hole course extends over varied terrain, demanding precision and thoughtful strategy. While it benefits from spectacular mountain views at nearly every turn, it also challenges players with subtle elevation changes and carefully positioned hazards that influence shot selection throughout. The layout weaves through crisp forests and open fairways, inviting a pace that rewards both calculated risk and careful course management.

The course embraces a mountain-style layout, shaping its routing around natural landforms rather than imposing artificial features. This grants each hole a distinct personality, from uphill approaches that test club selection and balance to downhill putts where slope reading becomes essential. Despite the elevation and occasional gusts sweeping across the fairways, Yellowstone Club remains playable for experienced golfers seeking a rigorous test without compromising pace of play.

Players will find a variety of tee boxes accommodating skill levels while preserving the challenge that defines championship-caliber golf. Greens receive meticulous care, presenting subtle breaks and firm conditions, which call for confident putting strokes and a careful eye on wind movements. The bunkers are strategically placed, guarding the greens and demanding accuracy on approach shots.

The clubhouse offers a refined retreat with sweeping views of the course and surrounding wilderness, making it an inviting place to relax after rounds or socialize. As a members-only facility, access is limited but promises privacy and a quiet connection with the sport amid Montana’s rugged splendor. Walking is encouraged, with the course’s design allowing for a seamless flow between holes on well-maintained paths; sturdy footwear is recommended to navigate uneven terrain comfortably.

For golfers seeking an immersive mountain golf encounter with a well-calibrated balance of beauty and challenge, Yellowstone Club represents a compelling destination. It is a course where every shot invites respect for both the game’s demands and the environment that frames it.

The gal at the Concierge is the rudest person I've ever met. I called because folks in Big sky have indicated that the internet is garbage. I wanted to talk to the club about working together to develop a solution and some rude woman snubbed her nose at me. What the hell?
