Harpeth Hills Golf Course

Nashville, Tennessee, USAMiddle Tennessee

Harpeth Hills Golf Course offers an engaging parkland setup featuring rolling terrain, fast Champion Bermuda greens, and a welcoming environment. Ideal for golfers at all levels, this Nashville public course combines challenging elevation changes with strategic design elements, delivering exceptional value and a memorable round.

Course Overview

Harpeth Hills Golf Course in Nashville presents a compelling blend of challenge and approachability across its 18 holes, making it a standout public layout in the region. Known for its parkland style with rolling terrain and pronounced elevation changes, the course demands thoughtful shot-making while rewarding precision. The landscape features generous fairways that wind through gently mounded ground, creating natural uphill and downhill lies that test club selection and balance. The large, sloping greens remain a defining characteristic here, firm and fast with Champion Bermuda putting surfaces that have steadily improved in speed and consistency over recent seasons.

This course caters to a wide range of players, from weekend enthusiasts who appreciate its accessible design to lower handicappers eager to maneuver challenging doglegs and strategically placed bunkers. These sand traps are more than mere hazards; they serve as vigilant guards around the greens and frame the landing areas, shaping your approach shots in subtle ways. Par-3 holes inject variety with longer carries over slopes and well-placed pin positions that demand focus and creativity.

Harpeth Hills thrives under thoughtful maintenance and a welcoming staff that supports a smooth golf experience. Water coolers near the tees add a considerate touch for hot summer rounds, while starter and course attendants enhance pace and flow. Walking is encouraged, giving players a chance to engage directly with the subtle undulations and views, though caution is advised on footwear because of the course’s varied elevation.

At a modest green fee, Harpeth Hills offers exceptional value without compromising quality, a fact echoed by many local golfers who rate the course among the finest public options in Nashville. Recent renovations to the greens have boosted roll and speed, elevating the competitive experience without alienating casual players.

Whether seeking a brisk nine or a full round, Harpeth Hills provides a well-rounded golfing adventure. Its blend of natural terrain, maintained playing surfaces, and considerate service sets an inviting stage for those eager to embrace central Tennessee golf culture at an approachable price point.

They don’t even deserve a star, it just stormed, and now it is beautiful outside. However, nobody will be allowed to play til 4:30, and it’s obvious the workers just want to go home😡😡😡

New to Nashville have played all the top public courses Greystone, legacy , Towee, Nashboro, honestly Harpeth Hills is in the best shape and can give them all a run for their money !! Course is in super shape greens fast and firm , traps consistent and had a deep bottom . Rough is deep if you miss the fairways. Lots of up hill greens and mounding on the fairways!! Large sloping greens don’t get any better in the area of anywhere , PS $30 lol. Interesting long doglegs and cool par threes ! Definitely play here , enjoy ! Very friendly staff including a starter and water coolers omg they have what we need for the right price !!

listen, I love this course, and I love our municipal golf system, but no twilight rate is a joke. $17 to walk nine with no mention of the aerated greens greens an hour before the sunset is just plain silly. at the least there should be a sign when the greens have been punched.

Good public course and staff. Greens are still a tad hard when they switched to champion Bermuda a few years back from Bent, but getting better and roll true compared to others. I’ve seen them roll close to 12.

Good golf course but the young woman working inside is completely rude and unprofessional. She laughed in my face when I asked where the pins would be the upcoming day. I’ve played a ton of elite courses. You don’t treat golfers that way.

Good course but the management is terrible the past 2 time I have book a tee time they have failed to put it in their system. I book the tee time a week in advance and when I get there or call ahead they inform me that they don’t have a tee time available. Awful management!

Great course in great condition. Even with the amount of rain recently, the course is fabulous. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to playing here many more times.
