Nashville Golf & Athletic Club

Brentwood, Tennessee, USAMiddle Tennessee

A private 18-hole course in Brentwood, the Nashville Golf & Athletic Club combines fast bent grass greens with a strategic layout that challenges all levels. Its peaceful setting and refined facilities make it a rewarding destination for serious golfers seeking a thoughtful round.

Course Overview

The Nashville Golf & Athletic Club presents an 18-hole private course that challenges and rewards players in equal measure. Situated on a sprawling site in Brentwood, Tennessee, the course unfolds across gently rolling terrain with a design that blends traditional golf values with subtle modern touches. Bent grass greens, rare for this region, offer a consistently fast and true putting surface, demanding precision and thoughtful approach shots. The course features strategic bunkering and undulating fairways that engage golfers to think carefully about shot placement from the tee through to the green.

Each hole showcases a balance between challenge and playability, crafted to suit a wide range of skill levels. The tree-lined fairways and natural contours provide a sense of immersion in the rolling Tennessee landscape without overwhelming the player. Wind conditions can occasionally test a golfer’s timing, particularly on the more exposed holes, while the elevation changes add variety without overly taxing endurance. The fairways are generous, allowing higher handicappers a fair chance of scoring, while the subtle breaks on the greens and well-guarded holes will keep low handicappers intrigued.

Beyond the course itself, the Club’s well-maintained practice facilities prepare players to face the challenges ahead with confidence. Its private status means play is reserved for members and their guests, ensuring a quiet, focused environment throughout the round. The clubhouse provides an elegant yet comfortable setting to relax after play, with attentive staff enhancing the overall experience.

For those planning a visit, footwear suited for walking uneven, grass-covered terrain is advisable, as walking the course remains popular. Tee times require prior arrangement through a member or at the club’s invitation. Rain or shine, the course’s drainage and maintenance keep conditions playable year-round, with seasonal overseeding helping maintain turf quality through warmer months.

The Nashville Golf & Athletic Club is best appreciated by players who enjoy a course that tests all facets of their game within a private and well-appointed setting. It offers a memorable outing marked by its fast greens, thoughtful layout, and the understated beauty of Tennessee’s landscape unfolding around you.

Absolutely amazing experience at this private Nashville course. The pro Chad was very accommodating by letting me out to play with some fantastic members in a winter scramble. Fantastic views, lightning fast bent grass greens and an amazing layout. Highly recommend if you can get an in

I went as a guest to this club and had a great time. The staff was very friendly, awesome layout With the exception of the bunkers and tee boxes the course was in very good condition. The tee boxes were not level and the turf quality was below average. The bunkers were inconsistent and varied a great deal in terms of depth of sand until reaching clay. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit and would love to go back.

Playing on reciprocal- the club staff was normal and the course now has hole signage but I will never be back. Second time playing here. The self proclaimed members behind us ran us off, and had some sick enjoyment about it. They started between #7 and #8, highly intoxed and becoming violent when their four some approached us twice. We made the turn quickly skipping the club, but were held up on play in front of us on #11, (as happens on weekends) The four guys were GONE and screaming incoherent things and hitting balls into us. All were male, two beards, and one chubby guy. We holed out and left early.

Excellent facility with cordial staff. Challenging layout, one of only a handful of courses with bent grass greens!
