Bear's Best Atlanta

Suwanee, Georgia, USAMetro Atlanta

Bear's Best Atlanta offers a public 18-hole course set in Georgia’s gentle foothills, featuring signature holes inspired by Jack Nicklaus designs. Its inviting layout balances challenge and playability, making it a rewarding destination for golfers of all skill levels.

Course Overview

Bear's Best Atlanta presents a distinctive golf experience with its 18-hole layout that blends recreation with a touch of architectural nostalgia. As a public course in Suwanee, Georgia, it invites players of all skill levels into a setting where well-maintained fairways and thoughtfully designed greens create a balanced test of golf. The course draws inspiration from some of the most celebrated holes from Jack Nicklaus's portfolio, though it stands on its own with features tailored to the gentle foothills of North Georgia.

The course unfolds across rolling terrain, marked by lush fairways and strategic bunkering that demand both accuracy and tactical decision-making. Each hole offers a different challenge - whether it’s a dogleg requiring precise shot placement or a green guarded by undulating contours that influence putting lines. The Montana hole, with its striking black sand bunker, is a highlight renowned among visitors for its visual contrast and strategic complexity.

Bear's Best Atlanta's design encourages a thoughtful pace and rewards risk-reward strategies without overwhelming less experienced golfers. Tee boxes are placed to accommodate various skill levels, allowing beginners to find their rhythm while presenting lower handicappers with enough challenge to engage their full arsenal of shots.

Beyond the course itself, the club delivers modern amenities that support a polished day of golf. The clubhouse stands as a central hub, offering a welcoming atmosphere with a professional pro shop, dining facilities, and locker rooms that cater to players’ comfort before and after play. Staff members have a reputation for hospitality that adds a personal layer to the overall experience.

For those walking the course, well-maintained paths and natural contours make for an enjoyable journey on foot, though golf carts remain readily available. The blend of approachable layout, scenic foothills, and community spirit makes Bear's Best Atlanta a go-to destination for players visiting the Atlanta area seeking both challenge and charm in their rounds.

Was there for a golf tournament. The personnel there were very accommodating and helpful. The reception/ dining room was large, and the food was great. The golf course was also well maintained.

Really nice course. Layout is very straight forward and fairways are plush. Playing from the white tee's give you a chance to score, Playing from the blues instantly adds some challenges.

Starter is rude and clearly acts like he needs to exert his only authority in life over handing out keys 5 min before. No need to be that way

This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at an out of town booking. Flew in for a business meeting, and booked a 730 single. Arrived at the club and SJ picked me up, was so nice. Took me to the clubhouse and then went to get me my rental clubs. Marty at the clubhouse was incredibly hospitable, told me all about the course, things I might enjoy, asked me where I was from and then highlighted the holes from my state. Finally, Bob got me all situated to start my round. Rental clubs are top notch, not the garbage you get at a lot of courses. I took off for my round and it was beautiful, well kept, and just an overall wonderful round. The black sand on the Montana hole is really cool. I got ready for my meetings afterward in the changing room which was great, then enjoyed lunch in the clubhouse. All in all, this was incredible from start to finish. Have highly recommended this course to everyone I know that comes through Atlanta. Sj, Marty, Bob, you all were so kind and incredible. Keep it up!!

Very unimpressive for a good golf course. Dumb rule where you can’t move the cart until 5 minutes before your tee time (for no reason except “so they don’t have carts all over the place”). Super slow pace, not enough water on the course.

It was a really fun game because the weather was warm and the sun was nice. The local neighbors we joined together were very friendly and fun. It was not an easy golf course, but it was a little challenging and thrilling course. If you come to Atlanta, I strongly recommend you to visit Ecos.

Our golf 4-some thoroughly enjoyed playing at a recent event. They have updated facilities, clubhouse, and pro shop. They run tournaments very well. Also, fun to play non tournament. I had run one for 10 years and they hosted it several times. They do a great efficient job at running events and making it a great experience for participants. I’ve played Bear’s Best Las Vegas a few years back. It is beautiful with the mountains, but this course is way better.
