I mean, Arnold Palmer shot a 12 on 18. I shot a 9...so yeah. I'm better than Arnold Palmer. I only played back nine for the first time. Difficult! Hilly 9 holes, some narrow fairways, greens have some slope and are fairly protected. I found it challenging and look forward to play 18 some day, if I can ever find a tee time... I'm a 16 handicap...hole 18 isn't as hard as me and Arnie make it look.

A beautiful gold course withal an area for putting practice, a driving range, food, and a decent sized golf course (for the LA area). The staff was friendly even the maintenance man was super nice! The grass was soft and sprawling hills looked like a decent challenge. It even had a decently tall fence to protect the local area because it is smack dab in the middle of town.

Close from Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Courses are fun. Little hills and valleys. Personally like to play at twilight after it cools off and sunset on from the 9th hole is amusing. Recommend it, but I hope it does not get too popular. it's hard to reserve tee off already.

It has been years since someone has treated me the way Coach Steven Vilts did. I was using a teaching stall, which guests are allowed to use unless an instructor is teaching. He walked up to the stall and said, “You may use this stall until my student arrives.” I replied with, “Understood. When does the lesson start?” He snapped back with the exact words, “Excuse me? Did you hear what I said?” And reiterated his statement. He followed up with, “…and by the way, welcome to golf,” which I presume was an insult to my golf skills. I am young (early 20’s) but I am not new to the game; I proceeded with my next shot. Upon observing it, he took back what he said, and then took my bucket of balls and brought it to another stall and said, “I’m gonna have you take this stall. You’re welcome.” His student never showed up and he left after ten minutes, but kept his gear in the stall. I was hanging out with my friend who was originally in the adjacent stall to me, so this cut our time together short for no reason in the end. I thought Steven was a nice guy. I’ve been to Rancho Park easily over 100 times—I almost solely practice there—and I see him there all the time. Sadly, I will be continuing my practices elsewhere.
